Default Thunder Tiger 40?

It has come to my attention that Hobico has been shipping TT 40 Pro engines with 46 crank, piston, sleeve, and heads.

The case says it's a 40 as well as the box but they are not. This might not be a big deal to you unless you are racing in AMA 424 or Club 40 class.

The first tip off is if a quarter will fit between the head and case you may have a 46.

The stroke and bore are about 1mm larger on the 46.

If you have one please call Hobico and let them know it.

These will likely be engines purchased with in the last year...

Default RE: Thunder Tiger 40?

I guess I was right

Here is a letter posted here on RCU under the Club 40 pylon.

Dear Gary,

We are not sure if this email address still works for you, and hope this email can find you well.

I have some questions those are important for all flyers who loves club 40 racing.

May I know how many flyers are still in this race?

So that we can decide to discontinue the Thunder Tiger Pro-40 or develop a brand new one.

Few years ago, Pro-40 was exclusively engine for the race, but now the race has Super Tiger GS-40, too.

As the manufacturer of Pro-40, our responsibility is much less.

Looking for your reply.

Keep the .40 and replace the .46 with a .50. Same case but larger cylinder.
