Enya 60 XLF Bearing noise
Hi,
Just after a bit of advice. I have purchased a used Enya 60 XLF with geared pump. The engine had been run when I purchased it and I have run it on a test stand. However when I rotate the engine by hand I can hear a bit of what sounds like bearing noise from the front bearing. Is this normal for an engine to have a bit of a rubbuing type noise when you turn it over?

No the bearing noise means the bearing is bad. You'll need to replace both the front and rear bearings.on the crankshaft. it isn't a big deal to replace the bearings. Since the Enya engine has a removable front end, you can pull the front end off without disturbing the piston to cylinder fit. Thus making it even easier to replace the crankshaft bearings.
