Default YS 1.10FZ Prop Nuts ???? HELP!

In yet another RCU classified "deal" I purchased an YS 1.10FZ for my newly recovered Funtana S90. The engine showed up missing the outer prop nut.

Anyone besides central hobbies have a set? I'd like both as the inner is pretty beat and looks like the previous only had vice grips in the flightbox. Central shows them in stock, but after I paid nearly $20 for 2 nuts and a washer, 5 days later they tell me they do not have them.

Anyone? I have a Funtana ready to fly, but I refuse to run a big 4 stroker without the outer lock nut.

Have you checked with your local screw products (industrial) outlet? It would not have the mating capabilities of the stock nut but might work until Central gets them in. Also DuBro makes a spinner nut for them which I have, at least for my YS 70.

Quote from Deb at central "It will be a long, long time before we get parts in for the YS".

The YS 1.10 uses a M8x1.0 thread diameter & pitch. I have a database of neary 300 glow engines and it's the only one that uses a 1.0 pitch with M8 diameter.

Thanks, I appreciate it. YS in Nevada is out of stock on those nuts as well.
I guess I can put that project back into mothballs for a while. Jeremy at YS said it may be weeks and weeks before they get anymore.

Do you know anybody in Greeley, CO? There's a set in a store there (Things With Wings) - BUT - they will, under no circumstance, ship.

If you do a member search and narrow the search by city "Greeley" you will find 90 RCUmembers that live there. Idon't know anyone personally - but - you may ...

You might start a thread looking for a Greeley contact. Just thinkin' out loud.

Bigger question is what is going on with Central Hobbies or YS that parts are so hard to come by?

Thanks,

Ernie

We can solve Taz's problem. We cannot solve a parts distribution problem.

Oh yea - Ithink that Isaid that the FZ 1.10 is the ONLYengine that uses a M8x1.0 crank shaft. Everything else is M8x1.25.

Good, it's just a parts distribution problem, thanks. I was worried there might be a manufacturing slowdown or worse in this economy. It was sad to see companies like Webra go under.

Thanks for the info,

How about a true turn spinner adaptor. It looks good and serves a second purpose as well. They must make one. Just a thought.

Great idea! ..... and it will be hardened and up to the job if it will mate properly without the Tru Turn parts on there. Or heck, use a Tru Turn spinner unless it throws the balance off too much.

I apologize for sharing BAD WRONG INCORRECT information! The diameter and pitch of all YS engines is M8x1.0.

I took a peek at my FZ 70 and I AM using the TruTurn nut and washer along with a Dubro spinner nut. Works great.

Luckily, a fellow RCU member hooked me up with a brand new set of nuts & a prop washer. Too awesome! Thanks again brother!
