New(ish) Rossi R46CR/R57CR
I've searched high & low, but can't find anyone who's used the new (2011) [link=http://www.planethobby.com/product.php?productid=983&cat=74&page=1]Rossi "R Series" motors[/link] They come in other sizes, from .26 to .91, but the 46 is the newest.
According to Rossi, these are more 'normal' than the high-strung racing engines they've been known for in lieu of being much more user-friendly. Per Rossi:
$195 for the 46 isn't that much for an Italian-built mill...it's just a scosche more than the OS ax stuff, and a lot less $$ than Jett. I'd love to hear if anyone's used them or seen them in use.
Thanks

Novarossi got in touch to tell us about the new Rex R26CR and R46CR airplane engines. The engines have a displacement of 4.3cc and 7.6cc respectively and are designed to produce maximum horsepower while having the lowest possible fuel consumption for long flight times. Novarossi also had an eye on user-friendly hand start characteristics as well as responsiveness to throttle changes.
Thanks
