Erickson full expansion engine
I have one of the 1.2's and have always been impressed by it. They are really a whole different animal to tune but arent bad once you figure it out. They dont turn big numbers but they will swing a big scale prop as quite as an electric.
Anyone know what ever happened to them? I know thier website is still up but the email has been down for a long time.

Mine is now on a stand and sits in my office. Every now and then I take it out and run it. They are super quite and the exhaust is warm, not hot.
If you were to take one to the field, everyone would think it was an electric as it flew by. Next time I run it I will record a video.

Apparently, these have become quite the collectible item. The last one that sold on E-bay, a couple of weeks ago went for over $900. I can't seem to find the auction now, a friend has one so we watched it closely.

Yeah that sounds about right for price Ive seen the 1.2's go for that in the recent years. I found two 2.0 in the last 3 yrs or so. I offered $2k in cash and was flat out rejected with a "h#ll NO". Last year at Toledo a guy had one in his booth. He was just fishing with it to see what it was worth. I would guess it would take more than I was willing to spend.
Ive only seen one fly back in 1998 or 99 on a Balsa USA Sopwith. I knew at that time I had to have one. Im more of an old kit and engine collector now than an active flyer. Kids, cars, trucks, house, wife, dogs, job, other job, racing, will do that to you.
