I had a .70 and a 1.80 V-twin, you're going to love it. Don't over do it on the nitro.

Thanks. I was wondering about mixing fuel with some straight methanol and maybe adding some oil?

Best take some straight Methanol and mix it with 15% oil. It will run great without nitro.

Yep, that's what I do. Straight fuel, 13% synthetic oil. Runs just fine.

G'day

I have three Laser engines. I really like them. I have a 70, a 100 and a 150. Laser suggest you can run them on 15% synthetic oil and the rest methanol or 5% nitro for general use or up to 12.5% nitro for contest use. I use 10% in all my engines so that is what my Lasers get and they seem to like it.

They are really pleasant engines to use. Starting is easy (they start easily with a back flip once primed) or with an electric starter.

I am sure you will like yours.

G'day

That fuel should be fine. My fuel has a little castor oil in it too. It does make a mess but it keeps me happy and so far rust has not been a problem. If you use Coolpower, I would be sure to use some after run oil if you will be storing it for some time.

It is also important to lubricate the engine every 3 hours or so with some oil. Laser suggests plain 30 grade oil or a simple two stroke oil. You need to squirt in 3 to 5 ml to lubricate the cam gears. It smells terrible afterwards as some of the oil burns.

I flew my 70 a couple of weeks ago after it had not flown for several months. I primed it by choking the carby for about a on the "suction" stroke (you can feel it suck against your finger); turned it over several times; applied the glow and flicked. It started immediately first flick. That is a Laser.

Cheers

Sounds good. I appreciate the advise. I do have after run oil. Also picked up some air tool oil today . Laser communicated last week that they have all the components needed to build my engine. I'm not sure how long I will need to wait.
