Default Is Fox Manufacturing still producing RC engines?

Fox Manufacturing has a web site but it appears like it has not been updated in a few years. I have always heard good things about Fox engines and I have always wanted one. Has anyone done business with Fox lately or is their web site just a ghost?

Yes they still sell engines. You can call them to find out about any of their products. That is what I do. They send out a current price list sheet with purchases too. Yeah they haven't updated their website all that often.

It was never proven that he did anything.

There is nothing in his information stating that he went to prison. So where did you read about this at?

Earl, we went through this a couple of years ago on the other network and the general consensus was that it never happened.

Yes,the quality is still there.  I have bought a couple of .60 engines, and a couple of .25 engines and several of their new design carbs to use on older engines in the last couple three years.  The .60 engine runs as good as my Rossi .60 engine does using the same muffler and prop on both engines. Several years ago Model Airplane news had a .60 engine shootout review article and the Fox .60 and Tower .60 engines both outperformed the other engines.

I purchased a Fox 74 last year. The quality is very good, if anything, better than their quality was years ago. Fox's website, on the other hand, is poor. They could sell many more engines if they would improve their marketing.

They tend to TCB the engine line only when their main business lags, or they have caught up with employment. Or so I hear. They do not make any real money from RC engines. The business is now owned by his step son and wants to keep the engines in production as a legacy to his step father.

Someone on another forum called and talked to Sharon. As of now and the foreseeable future, no new engines or parts are being made. She didn't say they were never producing again, but not for quite awhile. This was as of about a month ago.

So for the masses, it is Chinese motors, or Japanese motors made in China? maybe some Russian ones? Pretty much.

I suspect that MECOA is doing the same thing Fox is doing. Both companies have given model engines a low priority while they fulfill other more lucrative contracts. But if things slow down, they may start making model engines again as a way to fill in the gaps between the big lucrative contracts.

I have never dealt with MECOA mostly because of no stock and stories, but it seems like they only assemble engines with whatever deals they find, and only make parts when extremely needed. As people age, I think it may go by the wayside too. PLEASE correct me if I am wrong.

Demand drives production. I'd imagine if enough people asked for engines, they may produce some but there'd likely have to be a BIG order to get them to dust the moulds off.
