Default Moving muffler up on 2 stroke

I am finishing up a Laser Arrow delta and the muffler on my GMS 76 will touch the wing. I needed to move the muffler up about a half inch. I got two pieces of half in aluminum stock with a slots cut in it with an end mill 90 degrees apart. These two pieces lift the muffler just enough to make the muffler higher to clear the wing. The exhaust will be going through two 90 degree bends before going into the muffler. What type of effect will this have on the engine? I know the exhaust flow will not have the smooth flow it would have with the muffler bolted right to the engine. I have not run this set up yet. Any thoughts?
Thanks
Pete

That will work fine with minimal effect on performance. Adding volume usually adds power but that little but of extra volume won't help much if at all. Your adapter is similar to the adapter I got from Dub Jett to use a bolt-through Jett muffler on a SuperTigre engine that uses a bolt-on muffler. I have the adapter sealed up to not leak so I didn't pull it apart to show the inside of the adapter, but it's much like yours inside.

You could try a bench test and see if the rpms are affected. I can see it changing some but it should still run.
