Hey John I have an old Irvine with a gold head, like this. I partly learned to fly with this engine and a dumb thumb incident broke the muffler. It is the Q-72 and had the extra long two chambered muffler.The muffler you see is an MVVS

I thought the Eagle 4 was much later. Still more powerful than most other brands though.

I have an un-run ABC .74 with tilt down muffler that I obtained circa 1992. It will eventually go in the classifieds as I have no interest in it. (after I get a replacement stop screw for the carb which I borrowed years ago for something else..).

Tim, you can ask anything. You offer a lot to RCU. There was an recent incident, probably the one you are referring to, where bogus information was being funneled back into RCU from a banned member. He was banned and therefore so were his newer posts from other sites. I checked on this and there were a few discussions about deleting that material. Some of the advice he gave could lead to problems if other members believed the nonsense, regardless of his refutable claims of expertise.

Earl, maybe it's time we mentioned that the Fox .60 has nearly same bore and stroke as a MOKI .61 long stroke and the MVVS .61. The Fox .60 has a bore of .905" and the stroke is .937". The MOKI and the MVVS are 23mm bore and 24mm stroke. The early MOKI was 24mm bore x 22.5mm stroke.

Yes that is true, the Fox engines are long stroke engines. That does allow for the ports to be slight large in size thus letting the engine flow a little more air/fuel through it.
I forgot to mention earlier, that I do not have a problem with the Phillips screws on the Fox engines. But if they had gotten buggered up (from a previous owner) I usually replace them then. Like BW stated you have to use the correct screw drivers on the screws then you don't have any problems.
