I am trying to find a muffler for this engine. I was told by a US supplier that the manufacturer was wiped out by a hurricane?? Does anyone know if a different manufacturer's muffler has the same threads ?

yes many out there. I found a muffler thread size and cylinder muffler header thread size chart a long time ago on the web. Find the thread size and then go to central hobbies and order an adapter then run a saito muffler or just run a header on it.
