And I need to put a larger fuel tank on my test stand as well. Currently 8oz and it doesn't seem to last very long.

what I have done is take the muffler of and then get 3 to 4 feet of heater hose that fits over the header and then put that inside of a old 5 gallon plastic gas can. works very well to deaden the sound and over time will have some oil left in bottom to use around the house as its still good oil.

Regarding the midrange fuel adjustment on the C14 carb, which way is lean and which way is rich?

I'm thinking that clockwise is leaning out the low speed fuel. The user guide doesn't actually say.

I ran it today with the 14x12 prop and it does 9500rpm no sweat. I think I have the low speed set correct as well as it will idle for 60 seconds and transition to full power without balking. Such a cool engine, love running it!

I've been talking to some guys that ran and even modified this engine back in the day, I'm getting that the valve springs and valves become a weak link with high rpm. I'm planning to limit my rpm to 11krpm until I can learn more about this aspect of the engine.

I am measuring the temp of my glow plug with an IR temp gun and getting 285F under full power. Additionally I notice that when I changed from the 14x10 to the 14x12 I had to add several 'clicks' more fuel go get it similarly rich.
