Please help with engine ID

It looks like one of the old engines made in Eastern Europe before the iron curtain fell. It may be impossible to identify it, as the machinists at the time were very reluctant to be linked to the model engines. There were a number of people that made engine over there in quite a few different countries too. But very little information as to who made what.
I cannot tell from the picture as to the displacement size of the engine. But MVVS during their days behind the iron curtain did make some 10cc engines that look similar to it. They had a lot of varieties and differences between the versions too.

I just asked over at RCG and it's an MVVS 10cc from 1966 with only 400 made.

Interesting that this image shows a bolt threading into the crankshaft. The OP's picture shows a threaded stud for the prop shaft. Another poster had an issue with a MVVS prop shaft, whether it was a stud, or machined as part of the crank. maybe they had it both ways?

I believe this is going to prove to be threaded into the crankshaft like a K&B Sportster. Wow, 400 units worldwide and mine is rear intake. I wonder if that's included in the 400 or if it was 400 rear, 400 front etc etc.

Couple of years ago I picked up a brand new Russian rear exhaust engine so I ran it in, put it on a solid wing profile trainer I'd built for my son complete with the tuned pipe I'd used for an OS 40VF and went flying. Some time later I discovered they'd only ever made 50 of the RE engines .

This one has been run also, and it was on a trainer . My friend Bruce at brucercengines.com will probably put it on his site for me as I could really use the money right now.
