Yours is not a first generation, the first Generation was a 120 S Gold Edition. The carb intake did not screw to head, it was a tube that had two o-ring and slipped into head like the Saito 100

Thanks Bob

Where does the 120 abc (big jug) fit in the time line? (Mine has "gold" rocker covers). Thanks.

Bob,

Hobbsy posted a picture of the first generation Golden 120S which I think is the one you have

Ken posted a picture of the first 120 which came out some 10 years before the 120S. Very few parts of the original 120 low cam big head will interchange with any part of a high cam 120S with either the push-in or last screw-in intake designs. The original two big head versions had a air bleed carb.

The plain 120 was one of the first four strokes Saito made in the early 80's. Though there were a lot of minor changes over the next decade there was one major change in the reduction of the size of the head. A couple of recognizable features were low cam and air bleed carb.

Then came the 120S with the high cam and push in intake manifold in the very early 90's. The head was smaller than the early straight 120's. After just a few years, Saito went back to the screw in intake manifold. They stayed that way until the 125 came out.

Jim, got the parts yesterday, you know I told you that said the case was a backorder. Well when the mail came I got a case, gasket and ring, no piston. Will call Monday and find out the problem. Crank and bearing fit case good
