Default Hayes/Kraft fuel tanks - Who wants them? (Group buy)

I'm testing the waters to see how many folks on here would be interested in some Hayes/Kraft fuel tanks?

Late last week through a round about way, I found that Hayes products stopped making the Kraft/Hayes fuel tanks about a year ago, due to lack of interest in glow/gas planes, and also to a lack of funds.

There are dozens and dozens of brand new Hayes tanks that were never shipped to hobby shops and are available as a bulk buy only.

I'm testing the waters to see how many folks on here would be interested in purchasing some Hayes tanks.

Please respond or PM me if interested so I can gauge interest.

Thanks.

I love Hayes tanks but only need a couple of each in the popular sizes.

[If no interest, you could always *bay them ...]

What is you definition of 'popular sizes'?

Yes, I can always eBay them, but it becomes quite a pain to do so.

Throughout my building "career", I have only bought that brand a couple of times. I have settled into using DuBro tanks. BTW, lack of interest in glow/gas is a huge shame. I still fly glow only. If glow products (engines, tanks) disappear from the market, I will disappear from the hobby.

I would be interested in any size and pattern that I can get and as many as I can get!

Ok everyone - it looks like the tanks will be about $5-7 each regardless of size, although I'm still not 100% certain. I believe a flat rate envelope from USPS is $5.95. For those wanting more than one tank I am thinking I can mail several tanks in one envelope to aid in lowering shipping costs. Does this pricing sound reasonable enough that everyone is still interested?

A list of sizes would be great, if that is possible.

I wish I could, but at this time, I'm unable to locate a list of sizes that were produced. I was told by Hayes, that they have every size available. Not sure if that helps or not.

Yes I am still interested. The size range that was produced if I am not mistaken was from three ounce to 13 ounces.

Actually down to one (1) ounce John ... I bought one last year before I knew Hayes had ceased manufacture.

I will definitely buy a few -- will need to to make postage to the land downunder acceptable

The most common sizes I have used are the four, six, eleven and thirteen. Didn't know there was a one oz. I do have a couple of three's in a pair of oldtimers.

Their largest tank is a 16 ounce. So 1 ounce to 16 ounces.

A pity Hayes are gone. They were my favourite fuel tank. I hate mucking around with bungs and bending brass pipes.

I now use only RotoFlow tanks for that reason. I even have one on my PSP.

I like the Hayes tanks above all the others. I would be very interested in buying some. I am another guy who only flies glow. About a month ago I was bummed to find them no longer producing tanks. Thanks
James

There are many MFG's that are stopping making things we are so used to having. Hobbico isn't making retracts anymore. The last ten years we have seen the decline so if like a certain product best buy enough for the length of time you plan to fly.

I would be up for two or maybe three each of slimline tanks in 8-16oz sizes. Thanks for trying to get this going.

Ok folks - I am unable to find a conclusive list of all the Hayes tanks that were available. This website is the closest I have gotten to date: http://www.hobbyfever.com/advanced_s...rds=hayes+tank

I have also been told by the manufacturer that the 13oz tank is the largest size that comes in both regular, as well as slimline. The 16oz are all slimline.

If anyone has anything else to add, please do so.

Regards.

That does not sound like all that many are left, my recommendation would be for you to get an actual quantity for the bulk buy.

I will buy any size and either of the two patterns and as many as I can get as previously noted as long as I can get a selection of whatever is left. I am not any kind of reseller they are all for me and hope they last until I croak! My previous estimates have proven to be inadequate.

Actually film is available at photo stores devoted to photo hobbyist and professionals. Also used medium format cameras are cheap and have better resolution than the 35mm sized digital, so it's not dead either.

I have noticed the somewhat similar "Great Planes" range of tanks has also been withdrawn.

It appears we are down to Du-Bro and Sullivan as the only volume producers in North America. In the UK SLEC still do a similar range of tanks (with moulded nylon connectors) however they are not readily available elsewhere.
