The Jett .50 outrun the OS .55 by 1k rpm at least. It'll last 10 times longer too - NO NICKEL in the Jett!

I have a Jett BSE .35 and a Jett BSE .56LX. The .56LX (piped) will turn a 10x6 APC over 18,000rpm. The OS isn't even close to the same league as a Jett, so if Quality and power are what you want, don't even consider OS as anything in the same realm. Dub Jett engines are built to suit - when you order it, he makes it. Test run before shipment too.

Jett .56LX on the stand. Loafing along on a 10x6 APC. Pipe is set 1/2" longer than optimum - a bit of a failsafe from Dub Jett. https://youtu.be/4CEaZ2M2XsU

Nice video and engine setup. I've seen Jetts run and the acceleration is instant. Awesome engines. I have a used Jett 90 but have never ran it.

Jett engines are the best in every area. One flick starting, incredible top end, carbs second to none in terms of idle and transition. Nothing else compares! I've been flying for 50 years and have around 120 engines currently and 5 flyable planes. Jett engines are expensive, but like anything else, you get what you pay for!

Max

p.s. I also have around 10 O.S. engines. They are my choice for four strokes.

Inquiring minds want to know.

I've bought OS and I've bought Jett. If there were ever an apples and watermelon comparison, this would be it. And I know it will annoy you, but IMVHO, one brand carries massive value for the money that the other doesn't.

Jett .50 - 10x6 APC - 17,000rpm. Weight 16.5oz with muffler and prop nut. AAC piston and cylinder (they're freaky tight) and superb remote needle assembly. They come with a spare prop stud, head shim, and usually an extra set of muffle screws. The $325 price tag is steep, but the value is outstanding. Run a Jett and you won't ever run an OS again.

I hate OS too . I take them to the field and every time they fire up and fly my planes around just fine . I want to fiddle around with them for hours at a time and go home without even having one fly . I want to have to pull them apart to find a peeled liner but they just wont play ball . I hate them for that . Shame on them

Pope I'm tellin ya bro they don't peel, there so good they start to shed weight is all, and yea they do let me down, I love a good dead stick landing, but all my OS powered planes never give me the thrill of a dead stick landing.

Those stupid OS motors caused me to completely forget how to set the high speed needle, don't even mention the low speed needle

If only you saw things the way I do, then you would understand Michael. It's okay, companies bend people over and give it to 'em all the time. Lies are great to hear too.

Enlightenment says, if you have an OS, you have no need for a Jett.
