Default OS 50 questions/bearings

I need some help with nitro questions. I know very little about nitro engines, so here it goes.
I have a os 50 that I have been flying for the last 6 years without issues, and love the engine. Last year it started making some not so nice noises at high rpms. This winter I was lucky to find a almost new 50 to replace my last one.
Today I ran it on a new fun fly(twist is what I alway use) bird I built and it sounded like a old ford down a dirt road.
I then tore it apart and noticed the main bearing was rusty and noooo good.
I watched a YouTube on how to remove the bearing and now I am to the point of finding new ones. Tower has them (both) for around 40 bucks, but I cant tell for sure if I am getting the right size. I think so though.
I remember Boca always advertising on this site and tried to search for them.

Should I stick with towers and pay 40 or go with the boca?
Does anyone know about my 50? and can confirm if its a 15x28x7mm bearing?
I noticed there are a couple different 50s out there??
sx? mine only is stamp with a 50 on the case??

Jason you either have an SX or an older FSR. I have found that Rcbearings.com to be a good value and a site that is easy to use.

I know the sx well, I have 3, the last time I rebuilt one I believe I paid $15 and $18 for NTN bearings. be careful of cheap No-name bearings, if you buy from Tower's just make sure you buy NTN or SKF bearings, there are better brands, but these work, I come to believe the SKF is the better of the two..

Thanks guys, I ordered a set this morning.
What Is a favorite prop your using on the 50?
I have been running a 11x5.5 apc but think that’s a little small and im overreving the engine?

look at the APC Prop RPM numbers in my link,
APC/on 5% Nitro,
11X7,,,, 11.200
11X8,,,, 11,000
12X6,,,, 10,950

according to the link the 50SX peak HP is at 17,000, yet for sport flying you want to prop it at it's peak Torque point because it's peak Torque point is where the engine is most efficient, so with seeing there is only a 200 RPM difference between the APC 11x7 and 11X8 and only 50 RPM difference between the 11X8 and 12X6 I would think it's peak Torque point is right around 11,000,,,, keep in mind that those numbers were tested with only 5% Nitro..

I find it very interesting that there is only a 50 RPM difference between the APC 11X8 and APC 12X6, I have never seen numbers so close between these two props on an engine, I will have to test these two props when I get my new RX packs..

OS Max 50SX
