magnum XF 120 fs
Hi,
I recently purchased a Magnum XL 120 FS. My problem is that the needle valve was removed from the engine, and I need to reset everything to a more or less fatory setting. Low side also
Can anybody give me any information on a setting I can start on?
Thank you very much
Al

Well, I don't have experience with that particular engine, but a good rule of thumb would be HS needle 3 turns out to start and lean it to max rpm, then back off 2-3 clicks. Low speed needle turn all the way in then back out 1 full turn and start from there. I assume you know how to set HS and LS?

Stuck? Hit it and the inside of the carb with a shot of liquid wrench, WD-40, etc. and let it set for 10 minutes. What did you tighten it down with? (should have been a very tiny screwdriver)

OK,
I finaly got it back out, I had to push it from the inside of the carb air intake and unscrew, using tiny screwdrivers on each hand. Boy, there is NO resistance on this screw!
After opening more and more, I got the engine running, now it is up for fine tuning, thanks
Sweet sound to hear it after so much fuss!

Hi,
I also bought this engine recently to check it in the tail heavy fun-fly 90 size, that had 2-stroke 90 before. After 2 hour break-in, engine runs fine. Using APC 15X8 turns 8.5K. Plug is OSF,
fuel 10% nitro. HS needle valve is open only 3/4 turn (using muffler pressure)
Looks like it has about 1 lb more thrust than OS91fs, which is in the identical model, but lighter also by 1lb. Vertical performance of both seems identical.
