RE: prop on a saito .56
Is that Saito .56 w/ 13X4 for 3D? I think that might not allow enough clearance for my plane, but I will give it a try. Planning on putting the Saito .56 on a Phoenix Sukhoi 31, but it might not be enough power from what some of the posts have said. It's not a 3d plane, and unlimited vertical capability would require a bigger engine, as the plane is a bit heavier than some of its couterparts, but my immediate desire is for scale sport flying. Later on I can put on a .70 Surpass that I have,
and wring it out thouroughly.

Yes its for 3-D, its on a heckler, it wieghs about 4 pounds. It does hover at half throttle and launches itself out of hover very quick when ya firewall it. not very fast but with 3-d I am not looking for speed. with a 12/6 it provided good speed and would hover but
was 3/4 throttle and climbing out of a hover was not near as quick. harriers are alot more fun with this prop and when you shut it down to idle on a down line its like someone reached up and grabbed the tail. If its all up wieght is ove 5 pounds I think Id just put the 70 on it now, you can always keep left stick down a ways.

RE: prop on a saito .56
I'm building a Sig Kavalier now and have test run my Saito .56 with a 11x7 APC. Any suggestions? The Kavalier is supposed to be sport/aerobatic and looks like it will be around 6-7 pounds when finished. This is my first 4 stroke, so I'm pretty much wondering about everything at the moment.

I had a TT 46 on a somthin extra, switched to a 56 saito and was just as happy for normal sport flying It should work great. I overpower all my planes anymore.....you know, way to much is just right. on your kavalier id try a 12/6 or 7 it should pull it fine.

I've been looking for a nylon 13x4 or 13x5 for a slow flying Senior with a Saito 50.
Tower shows Zinger making a 13x5, but that's it- everyone else starts at 13x6 and up.
Is your's an APC?
