Default Engine cleaner

Over on the "Beginner forum" I asked about a good engine cleaner. Anti freeze cooked in a pot was recommended for engine cleaning. I could not get a response to my add on question about the need to remove any O-rings from the needle valve or carburator assenbly. Any ideas from this forum about cleaning the burned on oil from my OS46.

Thanks

Don't bother removing the O-rings.

Do not boil the antifreeze. Just get it hot.

Enjoy,

I have been told that if you "cook"the parts on high that it might/could discolor some of the parts. The parts come out too hot to handle on low and it works fine.. I use a 50/50 mix of anti-freeze and have to add water to it once in a while because of evaporation. The anti-freeze doesn't harm the rubber hoses in your cars cooling system so if the o-rings are made out of the same material they should not be harmed either. I don't normally clean the carbs, but I have done some and I always blow them out good with an air hose.
I have tried some of the expensive model engine cleaners and they did not work and went bad real quick after they were opened.
