OS 91 vs. OS 91 Pump
I plan on putting one of these engines inverted in GP's new U -CAN DO 3D. Is the pumped version worth the extra money?. Which is the better engine?. Thanks

OS 91 vs. OS 91 Pump
I need an engine for a Hog Bipe. I was seriously thinking about the Saito 100 but I believe they are terrible fuel hogs. There are a dozen guys in my club with OS 91's. Every one of them runs perfectly and sips fuel. They may be down on power compared to the Saito, but I feel it's a more useful engine for general flying. I'm going with the OS.
BTW, my Saito 72 is also a fuel hog. It runs great but just doesn't give me that "this is a cool engine" feeling. On the other hand, every time I hear one of those pleasant mannered OS 91's fly past, I think "this is a very cool motor". Starts easily, carburates perfectly in every range, and sips fuel. So what if it doesn't get that last 300 rpm. In the whole scope of my flying day, it just doesn't matter.

OS 91 vs. OS 91 Pump
Both OS 91 Surpass engines have the same power output with the difference being the pumped version allows you to place the tank on the CG which I think would be ideal for the plane you are consdering. The OS 120 MKII did have some issues but all the OS pumped engines since then run flawlessly and have much simpler pump designs. If you are monting it inverted and want the tank on the CG to avoid trim changes during flight then the answer is the 91 Surpass Pumped version.
