For those that are interested Laser's latest engine availability statement posted on 4th April is as follows:
Following our factory move Laser Engines are currently restructuring how we produce engine parts in order to speed up production. This is an ongoing process and may take some time to complete. All of our V twin engines are out of production and are not available for sale at this time. Once single cylinder stocks are under control attention will shift to the twins. We are working to maintain stocks of single cylinder engines.
70′s have sold out but crankcase manufacture has been completed in preparation for another batch.
The 120 is back in production and a batch is under way.
80′s, 100′s and 155′s will return early next week.

Hi!
Bought a Laser 30cc V-twin 35 years ago that I just ran on the bench ,intended for a GEE BEE R1 built from Model Airplane News in 1985 (still not finished), does anyone know how the cam/cams are mounted to each other on a 30cc Laser twin?? On all OS engines there's a mark on the cam but how is it on the V-twin laser?

Just shipped out my last Laser, the end of an era
I am glad to see the still making engines . We often forget just how long they have been around.
Keep up the good work.

Sure, but I'd like to compete with an English four-stroke in la Coupe Des Barons and you are limited to a 52 as the maximum sized four-stroke engine you can use. I have a fine OS52 FS which I could use if I can't find a Laser. Scroll down to "Video Coupe 2018" to see what happened last year. https://saffiotipatrick.wixsite.com/vl38/les-barons

I have found both a Laser 45 and a Laser 50 in England. They've had new bearings and other parts but they don't run! Perhaps the owner doesn't know what he's doing! Be that as it may he wants £150 (176€ or $197 US) for each of them. Thats much too high for non-runners! I'll make an offer and if he doesn't accept, I'll run the OS.

Jonathan at Laser Engines posted today on the British RCM&E website:
"Just a quick note for those who have been finding it difficult to contact us. We have this top notch all singing all dancing phone system that apparently does everything except make/take calls. Its one of these voice over IP internet phone deals and its great until the internet drops out..which it does 3 or 4 times a day. Sometimes its down for hours, sometimes minutes. We have tried convincing the company that installed it that its no good but they blame everyone and everything else, which is helpful. In any event, if the phone just rings forever and noone answers it then its likely the system is down and my phone is not actually working. In this case please email me with a contact number and i will get back to you when i can.
On a personal note my mother kicks off cancer treatment today with a 7 hour operation. Depending on the outcome today and her progress over the next few weeks i may have to take off work to help her and my dad deal with it. If that ends up being the case then things here will be disrupted which i am sure everyone will understand.
Thanks all."

laser 100 in taube
Hello; I have a Laser 100 in a Balsa USA Taube, and it's my favorite engine. I mix my own fuel for it. It runs better then any of my other four strokes and suits the Taube perfectly. It's an easy starter, will idle all day, and is the quietest plane at our field. It is compact, light, and swings a big prop. I use a 15x8 APC, which is what laser recommend. I have it mounted on Sullivan anti-vibration mounts. If you have any specific questions feel free to E-mail me.
