Default 4 Stroke Manufacturers?

Hi!
During the past years many new 4 stroke engine-manufacturers appeared, so that there are now these
ASP, SC, OS, Magnum, Tunder Tigre... all looking almost the same.

I read that Magnum an OS shall come even from the same factory... is that true? Does anybody know more about this?
Here in Switzerland we rather use "original" OS engines (and of course the Saitos, sometimes Enya and YS, which are obviously not the same ones ) so that I never had the possibility to compare the others "side-by-side".

best regards

Magnum, SC, ASP are all made in the same facvtory in China near Hong Kong. Just Engines sells ASP's

OS is made in Japan

Thunder Tiger is made in Tiawan. However the owner was formally an engineer with OS.

Y-S and Enya are both made in Japan but are not related anyway to each other or to OS.

LEO, Megatek, and MECOA are all the same thing. LEO is the parent. They are made in China. LEO's are sold by Just Engines

Tiger Shark is another Chinese brand and they may be sold under a number of different brands. Just Engines sell's Tiger Sharks under their on label.

CS engines are made in Shanghi China

Enjoy,

Jim

I thought some of Magnum engineers were OS engineers.

Thanks for the answers
I only know that most of the parts of the Magnum GP10 an OS Max 10FP are interchangeable... but I have no idea about the bigger engines and 4 stroke ones... seems strange to me that parts of the same spec. would have been made in different factorys!

Couldn't it be possible that OS parts are being built abroad (China)? Japan has become expensive too, my newest 40GB Toshiba Harddrive is also "Made in China"!

Right, I'm not sure he owns the company, but Mr.Mihara from TT was a
chief engineer of OS in the past.

The Early Thunder Tiger GP40 series and the OS FP40 series and the Tower 40 had parts interchangeability. The Thunder Tiger GP 42 is it's own animal though.

Early magnums, the GP and pro series were made by Thunder Tiger. Now the Magnums are made by the same company that makes ASP andSC engines.

OS and Magnum were never related in any way that I know of.

There is a relative connection between LEO and Thunder Tiger but other than being a nephew or uncle, that's about it.

I agree. There is no commercial or buisiness tie ups or cooperations
between OS and Magnum.
