O.S. Ultimate .70
Anyone have one? I took a normal O.S. Surpass .70 out of my UCD, and want to try this engine out. My question is, can I still use the muffler, even though I dont need the pressure? I run a three line system in it now ( one for the intake, one for filling, and the last for the muffler)
The manual shows the a separate line for venting outside the cowl, and the muffler pressure line going to the pump.....so I am not sure how I should connect the lines.
Any help would be appreciated........
Happy Holidays

Sorry Blair, but I don't have one of these engines. It is on the wish list thou. The line you speak of that is vented outside the cowl is to vent the fuel tank I assume? I don't see why you couldn't "T" the muffler pressure fitting so one line goes to the pump and the other to the tank as long as this system is not using a one way valve to the fuel tank?

got one! This engine does not use muffler pressure. It has a pump. Looking at the back of the engine; the center port is fuel from tank. the 6 o'clock port is pressure to the tank. the 10 o'clock port is the crankcase breather and the 2 o'clock port is fuel to the carb-regulator.

A word of caution if I may. Be careful when breaking this engine in. There have been some problems with early pumps which have resulted in engine replacements. I was told that it takes one or two gallons to run the engine in. I had a pump failure with engine 1 and it was promptly replaced. I broke engine 2 in using 15% Omega with 4 oz extra Castor added. This engine runs great. It does have a very narrow needle range so be careful and don't run it too lean. I turn a 13X6 APV at 10800 and it could be set leaner But I won't.
