IronCross....you're welcome....
You're gonna love that plane....just remerber to keep 2 or 3 clicks throttle on it when you grease it in....it starts gettin' mushy at about 25-30 mph.
They should be back in stock any day now....and I'll have another.
Only got about 12 flights out of the first one.

Been off the scene for the last few years and am glad to be back smelling spent nitro again. Was digging through my old RC closet and found my Dago Red still in the box ubuilt. Got a saito .91 SGK that I have never run that is dying for a home. Will be back in the building saddle here in a couple of weeks and this sounds like a good plan to me. [:@]

Quite a few years ago I put a Webra T4-80 four stroke engine in a .40 size P-51. It flew pretty good like that too. So putting a modern 90 size four stroke should not be a problem. I would likely go with a Saito engine as they are amazingly lightweight for four stroke engines. Mount the engine inverted and it won't mess up the profile look of the plane.

You guys are brave. I've got a Kyosho Mustang which is a hair smaller than the WM Mustang (still 40 sized though). It's got a TT Pro-46 up front and is equipped with 6 servos (DBP retracts). Mine is pretty darn fast as equipped (I'm guessing mid 80s in level flight). It covers our smallish field with reckless abandon. Don't even want to think of what type of damage I'd do with a plane traveling 100+...

Now you have hit upon something about fast airplanes. How fast they get across the field is what I'm talking about. The longer that I fly R/C, the more that I resent having to turn so darned often. I'm now one of the guys that flies a lower top speed model, but who also demands full aerobatic and airframe muscling ability from my powerplants. Hence, glow four-strokes with large diameter/low pitch propellers and very light model construction. You don't have to "turn" nearly as often, which equals more fun as far as I'm concerned.

WOW this thread brings back memories and glad to see you two are still here LOL I've been out of the hobby a few years also. First plane I got in the air after getting the rust of my thumbs with a trainer was my Dego Reg (Mine is a VQ models) with a saito 82 and I forgot how well it moved across the field, Gotta love the 4-strokes in these planes.

I used to like flying fast airplanes, but eventually you get to the point where you do your turn around about 1/4 of a mile out there, then do three rolls and have to do the turnaround at about 1/4 mile out the other way. If you blink you lose sight of the airplane. But for some reason I still like doing those high speed power dive low to the ground fly by's still. Inverted when I am feeling rambunctious.

I was going to ask why you didn't try the ST inverted but then realized the muffler would still hang out there. I like the two strokes at an angle that centers the muffler under the fuselage but that doesn't hide them as well as you could the four stroke.
