Default POR-20 Anyone use as muffler gasket

Hello, I'm going to use this to seal the muffler to my new engine. I do not plan on putting that little paper gasket. Does anyone have any positive or negative experiences with Aluminum Pain used this way ?

""This Aluminum high temperature paint is capable of withstanding temperatures up to 1400°F, POR-20® is also extremely weather, salt and moisture resistant. Helps prevent cracking, chipping, and peeling. Can be brushed or sprayed. ""

Thanks for any input.

It will probably work o.k. I have used it on (full scale ) car exhaust manifolds with good results.

For model airplane mufflers though, I usually use Hi Temp. red silicone (RTV )

Why don't ya try that POR-20 and tell us how it works?

I definately will. Just have to wait for it to get delivered. (and for it to get a bit warmer. [8D])

Hi!
What kind of engine do you have that need a sealent ????
Al modern engines I know of are perfectly tight engine to exhaust without using silicon or any other sealant.

The LA40 will loose considerable fuel out the venturi and the front bearing area. It might be a waste of time if you want to keep a neat engine?

Enjoy,
