RE: tunder tiger 90
fist change the glow plug
no it's doesn't need a fuel pump. The fuel tank is presurized by the exuast.
CHeck the fuel lines to the engine. is the line to the carb going to the line connected to the clunk ( flexable peice of tubing hook to a heavey thing inside the tank) And is the line coming off the muffler connected to the line going to the top of the tank?
take a can of of air and blow out the venturie on the engine. Take out the big needle and blow the air through it and blow out the idle needle as best you can. Put the needle back in. Don't mess with the low end for now
open the high needle about 2 1/2 turns hook up the glow igniter and start the engine and advance to full leaving the igniter connected. Start leaning the needle out. When the engine is is starting to run somewhat smoother disconnect the glow igniter.
Keep leaning the needle until the rpm note peaks. Do this slowly and try not to over lean it. When you hit the peak RPM richen the needle about 20 degrees, you should near the RPM drop slighly and some smoke should be coming out the exuast.
Now to set the low end
Bring the engine to an idle. If it quit restart it and try it again at a higher idle. Pinch the fuel line to the carb and listen to the engine. When you pinch it if it rises in RPM lean the low end needle a hair. IF it slows down or die then richen the low end a hair. This part of the tuning can be frusterating, esecially if you havent done it before. Take your time breath and be patient. Once you finally get it to idle somehat reliable then reset the high end by advancing to full throttle. Peaking the RPM then back it off 15-20 degrees.

While you're messing with it, it won't hurt to check any gaskets and be sure the backplate and head screws are tight. Has it been apart? If it has, sometimes someone will put the sleeve in backwards. That fouls up the timing a bit.
