....you missed the Gilbert .11

It was kind of like the Testors engines, my friend had one. It was the most gutless
engine I have ever seen. We put it on the test stand one day and wound it up. It
wouldn't pull hardly any rpm, so we put an .049 prop on it, and wound it up again.

It still woundn't do any revs....what a dog. Finally he took it off the stand....dropped it
on the wooden floor of the shed we were in....and started pounding it with a hammer.
After about a dozen blows he pounded it right through the wooden floor, to it's final
resting place. It probably still resides there today in San Pedro, Cal.

Does anyone know what this engine is? It's a 2.5cc (.15) disc valve and I think it's an Alag. I've had it for so long I've forgotten.

all I can say is "WOW"
I never thought that this thread would have gotten so large.
I am going to be up for hours looking at all of these new names.
I have never seen a double over head cam motor before.

Both Dynajet and piston engines.. OS maked Dynajet. Mostly modeller maked own dynajet or there was plan of dynajet who maked own jet at modelairplane club or at school...

Name of them to example:
Emil Brauner pulsejet Czechoslovakia, Kladno
PuVRD (ะŸัƒะ’ะ*ะ”) Russia (often wrong wrote word "Myrpa", "MYBPA", "MYBRA" etc.. for this jetengine in western countries[:@]) PuVRD means at russian Pulsation Air Reaction Engine, (ะŸัƒ)ะปัŒัะฐั†ะธะธ (ะ’)ะพะทะดัƒั…ะฐ (ะ*)ะตะฐะบั†ะธะธ (ะ”)ะฒะธะณะฐั‚ะตะปัŒ
Letmo Czechoslovakia

Anyone mention the Just Engines Jens yet?

I think my Cameron (in the Rodzy car) was a .19. Boy was it hard to start and did it ever run hot. My dad and I tried pushing it with a stick, with glow driver battery attached to the stick. (Big old dry cell!) We tried flipping the wheel, and then finally we adapted an electric drill to drive the wheel to start it. There is a very special smell associated with the old fuels that had straight castor in them. There also is something about the brass parts in an engine that creates a fond smell when they are new and getting hot. Mmmm

Aren't you glad that modern engines are much more user friendly than they used to be??

Both old and new engines are easy started if you has good knowledge to use and run the engines...

It is many thing why the engines will not start to example users wrong, bad construction in porting (very rare), leaky engine cause damaget gasket, worned engine etc etc...

If the engine are well designed to works well, good maintenance, readed carefully in instructionspapers, you get a problemfree engine...

I never tried the Just Engines, i am thinking they selling these engines are well made engines.

I has PAW 40 TBR and other old engines as i show the pic. of my engines... They are well made engines who are easy to start...[8D]

Jenx:

Dynajet was its own brand - anything anyone else made could well have been a pulse jet, but Dynajet was their production only. OS did make a pulse jet, but OS did not make Dynajet. Saying they did iw just like saying K&B makess OS - they both make piston engines but they are different brands,

There was also MEW (Minnesota Engine Works) that made several different pulse jets, but I never heard of an MEW engine actually running.

I guess the greatest attraction for me is that the smallest recommended prop is a 14x12 and the largest is a 16x8, large for a .91 I know but it turns the 14x12 at 8,300. Europe is going for quiet so their MFG's are loading their engines down, MMVS is doing similar. I tried that prop on a SuperTigre .90 and no way, it only managed 7,300 and quickly got hot. The Webra doesn't even strain. I expect to see 8,500 or better after another hour of time on it. This will be its home.

Nice lists of engines folks I just bought a meteor 60 off the internet second hand and would love to get some specs or right up text and was wondering if any you guys could direct me in the right place. It has a polished finish and a rear needle valve carb.
With a brass pipe that bends through 90 degrees into the carb and a brass looking needle valve I have not received the engine as yet but should have it tomorrow will post some pics any info would be great.
