RE: saito 100 best fuel
From everything I have seen the Saito's love high nitro and I sometimes use 30% but more often 20%. They seem to thrive on high nitro. Costs more, of course.

RE: saito 100 best fuel
i dont think there is a "Best" but i do think there are a lot of fuels that run great in saitos(what a copout)
i think it depends on yur setup, budget and availibility!
in my case i mostly run pm15% because its all the lhs carries (besides $28 -30%) and i dont need the extra power because my plane only weighs in at 6lbs4oz, so just pick a good quality fuel, tune her up and go fly
just dont ask if you should run castor[X(]

RE: saito 100 best fuel
I dunno what's best, but I'm running the Power Master 20/20 YS/Saito fuel. Be careful with that fuel, it seems to irritate skin pretty quickly, mine in particular. Bring a rag or two. Dunno what's normal, I might have sensitive hands. Just breaking it in now.

RE: saito 100 best fuel
saito run good w 15 % nitro castor/synthec blend w and it have a bit more power with ys 20/20 power master fuel
i have a little OS 70 and since I put castor syntec blend I solve my overheating problem
the best way IMO try different fuel and see the react of your engine

RE: saito 100 best fuel
I know high nitro fuel can give more power but (IMO) the end of the engine life will come soon than if you use the factory recommanded fuel
the best way (I THINK)if you want more power try a bigger engine or a high output engine like YS

RE: saito 100 best fuel
I too run Powermaster YS/Satio 20/20 most of the time in my satios. I have used 30% heli also and it gives a nice power boost. The 30% has even more oil than the YS 20/20. Its like 23%. My Satios ran strong and cool on the 30% Heli. Horizon Hobby actual recommends the 30% heli in the satios so I doubt it will hurt them.

RE: saito 100 best fuel
I've been running Byron 20/20 in both my .82 and 1.00 Saitos; they seem to like it! I posted in the Saito thread but didn't hear anything: what are most people getting on a 15x6 APC? I only get about 500 more rpm on it than on the .82...

RE: saito 100 best fuel
I have a 72 and 100. I use 15% nitro 18% synthetic 2% castor (S&W). The engines throttle well, start easily and never dead stick. I have had the 72 for close to 10 years and it is still going strong and the bearings are clean. I just fly sport, so I don't care about getting maximum power. I'm more interested in saving money on fuel.

Also, at two gallons it is is still a new engine. It will get better with time.

RE: saito 100 best fuel
Omega or similar blend 15% Nitro fuel does just great. Sometimes I use 10% Nitro blended fuels. I never, ever use Cool Power without adding
Castor oil to it. The engines thrive on 20% lubricant. Yes, they can burn 20 to 30% Nitro fuels but that is a waste of money to me. You will get maybe 200 more RPM, a lower idle but it would be cheaper to get a glow driver if you are after a low idle.
Its your engine, go for it!
