Weird, my old Japanese Saito catalogue listing for that item translates to a 125 critic repellent gun!

Jim/Wasp, I made up this velocity stack for your 100, I'll send it along with the TS 90 pipes. When you install it it may need a firm push to let the carb screws go in, but it's not going anywhere after that.

what plane for my 100T ??

hey guys, I was going to put my 100T on my 4 Star 60, but that plane was crashed and I'm rebuilding it and I rather not take my chances with the 100T on it,,, so I am looking for another plane, first of all I want a scale plane, but do not want a war bird or a 3D acrobatic plane like an Extra or Edge, what I really want is a sport racer, but I have not found one I like, pickings are slim for ARF sport racers.. so I was thinking about just buying the new 4 Star 64 and bashing it into an open cockpit plane and round the ends of the wings all to make it look old, I love the old open cockpit racing planes.. I don't care much for the Space Walker or the Fly Baby,,, I wouldn't mind another ShoeString, but no one makes one in the size I need for my 100T..

thanks guys, any input would be helpful

Now okc you know japanese does not easily translate to english in their saito manuals, just look at how many people end up here because they can't understand the tuning instructions...including myself. The two saito 125's i bench ran for flying mates were very reluctant performers well past the hour mark and running a sym(pathetic) 15x8 prop.I think the least saito could do is include one of these in the box for good measure.Kinda like walkin past the chook shed first thing in the morning swinging an axe...man you wanna see them start laying then.

Just to lighten the mood for disaffected saito 125 owners as a social duty, here's a quick joke.

It's a freezing cold day and a north dakota state trooper comes across a motorcyclist who is stalled by the road. The biker is wearing heavy clothing and a full face helmet to protect his face from the cold.
"what's the matter" asked the trooper.
"carburettor's frozen" was the terse reply.
"pee on it.That'll thaw it out."
"i can't," said the biker.
"okay, watch me closely and i'll show you." The trooper unzipped and promptly warmed the carburettor as promised. The bike starts and the rider leaves waving.A few days later the local troopers office receives a letter of thanks from the motorcyclist's father. It began: "on behalf of my daughter,Jill...

SIG 1/5th Cub. I have a Saito 100 on mine, swinging a 16 x 8 prop. Flies great, half throttle flybys are very realistic, and with a twin, would be even more so.

SIG 1/5th Cub
acdii, if you told me 10 years ago to look at it I would not have looked any Cub with the thought of buying, but today, being ten years older I have more of an open mind, I did look at it on Google Images and it looks like a very nice plane, I will keep my mind open to it, thank you !

Here is mine, couldn't find a pic of it all ready to fly though.

Really nice flying plane, and with this engine, very fast at full throttle, but very scale like at low throttle.

Heres the Biper with a Saito 100. It flew, was too tail heavy though. They are both Koverall and Dope. With the OS Gemini II 120, it might be enough to balance the biper, but thats later on down the road, want to get my B-25 done, and the other two warbirds I started. I need to open the two lower wings and replace the first three or our inner ribs that got busted up when it went in, er, landed wrong, yes when it landed wrong.

For those among us who like big singles, this is a dandy.
A 1903 DeLa Vergne
125 hp
4,100 foot pounds of torque at 160 rpm
20,175 cubic inches
9 foot flywheels
Weight 80,000 pounds
Bore===26"
Stroke==38"
It gets run every labor day in Minn.
The flywheels and the crankshaft weigh 15 tons.

Is that a hit and miss, or magneto driven?

Hot tube ignition called Hornsby Akroyd, it ran on heavy oil that had to be vaporized before induction by exhaust heat usually.

I have been racking my brain trying to figure out why it look so familiar. It resembles the steam tractor my grandfather used in the 20s and 30s. That is one big engine!

And to think, very few people would know how to make one work, or even know what to do with it to make it useful. That TV show Revolution, where they made nanobots that consumed all electricity is a great example of this. With the lack of mechanical knowledge in people these days, if something were to happen like that, not that it actually could happen, but if it did, people would be lost. At least my Kubota could run without electricity once I figure out how to bypass the starter, its all mechanical injection.

Only six of the best jim, just like my high school headmaster used to hand out to me on a regular basis. The testastretta engine is out of the 200hp ducati pinagale and is detuned to about 160.Nice to ride but you need to respect it if you cane one.

Have you tried the 55" cmpro midget mustang as a sports flyer,if you want to turn it into a rocketship the top engine is an os75ax...i have one with a saito 115.Goes like a cut cat and some club members uncharitably call it the red lawn dart because it's a bit intimidating to watch.Your 100t would fly it scale.

ps nice colours on the cub bruce.

dang, bad news

I think Saito is making a big mistake, they have discontinued their 115 (sorry OF, I'm feeling your pain !!)

I think they would be much better off discontinuing the 100 and dropping the price of the 115, as I said before, the 115 can't cost more to produce than the 100
