The 125 still smokes in the midrange, it's about a half turn rich on the LS needle.I'll get to that on a warmer less rainy day.
Saito 125 milliamp readings with CH Ignition 6 volt. The milliamp meter goes to 350 ma at 9,150 on the APC 16x6 and down to 200 at the 1,790 idle. The engine is uncannily smooth at all rpm except 3,500 where it's a we bit shaky, probably the LS needle. Ammeter roughly follows the tach up and down.

BTW, I weighed the Saito CDI with cabling and a 5 cell, 2500 mah NiMH pack at 8 ounces not including the opto isolated kill switch which doesn't really weigh a lot anyhow.
BTW, in the case of OBG I usually use a much colder plug. This allows you to lean the engine out a bit and can help save a measurable amount of fuel. Since the plug is lit at idle (only at idle or just above idle) you no longer need the hot plug. You can also trim the nitro with OBG.
For the most part , with smaller planes; I still prefer to leave all that weight on the ground.I have in the past USED (quite a bit in the early 1980s) and no doubt will again use CDI systems. Mostly for the larger planes and floater type.

Jesse that was a good read re the cold plugs and OBG i guess you can stand down and rest easy over the search and rescue mission but don't put the trumpy back in the shed yet...i think dave is mixing his meds up before going for a ride sometimes

After seeing that Bozo doing a wheelie on a Harley I am starting to wonder. Better leave the bike home when doing a search-rescue for Dave. I’ll take the wrecker with a stretcher rig instead.
ps here's some good reasons to drag that stretcher thru aussie with dave on it mate...some out in the desert artwork and an outback roadhouse sign.If you read between the lines the snakes whizz in there to eat the green tree frogs that like damp spaces and the frogs go in to eat the cockroaches and so it goes on down the chain,you can see it's a pretty violent place
RE the 125 in the Stang, that one would be Glow, Wildcat 15% 2&4, and SIG 4S 15%. It would be one of the only ones I would convert to CDI due to what it is installed in. When I get tot he B-17 and B-29 those may be either the FG, or a converted glow to CDI and glow.

an interesting find on a new Saito part here
so guys, I found this that makes me wonder if you Saito guys knew about it ?
well when I knew I was going to move my breather nipple from the back to the front I ordered some parts, one was a new nipple just to have in case (<no joking LOL) (PT# SAI6519),
well the new nipple is made slightly different, the hole at it's tip is smaller than it is in the middle,, I have to think this would keep more oil in the case,
so did any one notice this before ??
BTW, (today) the 100, 125 and 150 use the same nipple

Saito 62b vent
Left is Saito 56, next is FA 40a, bck is 1980's 80 and right is the latest 125 with the smallest vent. It may be a clue that the two newest engines have the small vents. The engine by itself is a brand new unrun 62b, again a small vent

MA at idle
I just,put 12 oz of fuel through the Saito 100 with a CH Ignition marked for 4.8 volts and powered by a 4.8 volt HydraMax pack. It of course uses more current than the 6 volt unit using 250 ma at idle and going to 400 ma at 5,500. It may be higher but that's the meters limit.

I can send you an analog meter that reads 1000 ma full scale.
This is one of my favorite vent relocation points for Saito engines I make little 90 degree elbows to keep things tight
