main draw back, the 45 carb is way to small I can’t get a sloppy rich high speed. But it does idle good.
I turned a 11-7 at 8900 and a 10-6 at 10900. I think I can do better if I can get the 56 intake and carb to fit.
My saito fa30 will pull 10600 on 10% ripping the prop tips of a mas 10x6, better get that 45 to giddyup a bit more

I believe when I get the bigger carb on I should be able to turn a 11-7 that good.

I give this thread a lot of leeway but don't do that again or I'm going to start dispensing some moderated status

I'm looking forward to that, the 11 x 7 will require some serious torque. I hope you get it, I've not played with power enhancements much other than Turbo Headers.

Crunchy, I tried that 45 to 45s mod by installing a 50 cam, longer tappets, shorter pushrods etc but without the longer tappet bushings of the 45s/50/56 cam box the tappets would smack into the bottom of the pushrod covers. Watch out for that! You really need to use the correct cambox imo.

You can see now or later. If you want to check for interference now bring the engine to the compression stroke, slide the pushrod covers down as far as they will go and then roll the engine over. If the tappets lift the pushrod covers up you have interference. Not good if it does it like on mine did.

A possible result, on a smaller scale of course.

yeah.
it’s interesting the problem’s that come up and having the ability to over come them. I thank my dad for that one he was that kind of a guy who could be given a basket case and make it work. The last thing you wanted to do was tell hem he couldn’t do that.

Mike, the engine is boxed up, I will send it out tomorrow.

you know what I hate, when you box up an engine to send to a friend and you for get to put the muffler and metal back plate in the box, and then you have to open up the box and re pack it and re tape it LOL

BTW, where is every one ??

Thanks Jim! I can relate to that what you hate comment having done it myself a time or two. And you never get the box taped back together and looking as nice either!

How deep is the snow up there? I think everyone must be either still hungover or in a Tryptophan coma from eating all the Turkey leftovers.

Flat on my back, sicker than the proverbial dog, I had a flue shot, flue booster shot and still got it. Back to 60-t twin today, in short doses.

Well, unless you ate a rat, I don't think you are sicker than a dog. What a mess he made.
