Pete, I'm not a very good judge of those little millermeters but it looks like the adjusting screw is 1.5mm inside the face of the throttle arm and 1.75mm outside of the naked steel barrel. Sorry abou the lousy pics, I have new camera and haven't mastered close ups even though its on full auto.

If the camera has a picture of a flower on menu.....try the flower position. Your results may vary! Capt,n

Hello captinjohn

He has a point re focus hobbsy or you could down a scotch or two and lean back a bit ..i've already had a couple but still had to take my glasses off so the second shot was sharp as!!

Marked and then wound the needle in gently. If it makes any sense i applied the same force to the screw driver as to the weight of a full box of matches in your hand, think i'm 2 and 3/4 turns out.

cheers

W8ye,
There has been little to no discussion on the 200ti. I have heard that it sounds great but puts out the power roughly of a 150 to 180. I have installed one in a 150 size mustang and here is my question...Why does the mannual call for such a small prop? It calls for a 14x6 or 15x6. I run a 17 on my 180 in a P-47 and have used an 18 on a 150 in a cub.
The 6 inch spinner will make the 15 inch prop look pretty small and out of proportion. Just guessing...is it because each cylinder is only a 100 and the prop has to work with each cylinder and not the combined power of both?
Could the mannual be in error?
Thanks

I have a 182Td opposed engine that pulls a 16-8 pretty well. I've never seen a 200Ti except in the hobby shop.

Now that very nice!! at last.. a nice, compact, light and powerful 20cc 4 stroke gas engine!

I will definitely buy one!

Also an excellent chance to convert my glow versions to gas economy!

They recommend the same props as with the 125 glow. Is it possible it can be as powerful as the 125 glow?

Perhaps a different cam profile or whatnot and the peak power will be at a lower RPM, maybe.
The 125 has power to spare for a 60-90 sized plane, that's for sure....

The 125 glow is great. I have one setting on the shelf and the guy I fly with has two of them one in a UCD3D60 and the other in a Twist 60. He thinks they are the greatest engines ever made.

I'm in the middle of the woods , if someone is complaining , they must be where they don't belong to start with.

I live in a semi rural area. There's enough distance that I've never heard a complaint.

Four strokes are quieter and at a different frequency than two strokes. You mostly run your engines at lower throttle settings - the irritation is greatly reduced

Hello Saito experts !

Sunday I'll go break-in my new 72 GK at my local flying field.
When I received my engine, there was no clearance to the valves. Is that something usual ?
It was such that I had no compression at all...
I've adjusted the valve clearance using the supplied gauge.
Did I mess up something ?

Thanks for answering,
Paul

If the engine feels correct in that it has compression every other full turn then it is probably OK.

Probably the safest was to set the valves is to set one valve while the other is fully open

Well the engine had no compression at all... The valves did not close at all...
I suppose it was an abnormal situation, even for a new engine.

No, I've checked that also. The pushrods were at their place, inside their housing.
Well never mind, that won't keep me from loving Saito engines.
Is there any advice for the breaking-in of the 72 ?

I used to break-in my engines at Sepulveda Basin. But the local club that sort of runs things there installed an electric Park Flyer area there where the engine break-in stands were. So now there is nowhere on this huge facility to run in an engine without annoying either the electric park flyers, the heli flyers, the u-control fliers, or the fixed wing r/c flyers......

So now I just run in my engines in my backyard. I have not had a complaint yet. But if I ever get one, I will tell them as long as their gardeners are making a racket from 7AM to 7PM. seven days a week with lawn mowers, string trimmers, and leaf blowers I will run my engines as I please.

Tell em where to go Farty pants! No more noisier than a lawn mower. Not like your running it up hour after hour is it??

I had a neighbour like that and I told him that if he wanted quiet serenity to bugger off and live in the countryside ( like Ayres Rock! )

What size Saito do you think I could fit in my lastest project?? lol
