That would be OK for a partial throttle 10 min.

The 82 is getting up into 12 oz territory for some people that fly 15 min wide open throttle

The part number for that should be 8069A. Unfortunately, they don't seem to be stocked any more on the Saito website. I wonder if there is another Saito parts place out there who could supply you?

If you need it, I have a file copy of the Saito manual that covers the Saito .80. I can email it to you if you don't have it.

If I read your description properly, the part you need is the intake manifold. Part No. 8069a according to the manual.

Call customer service Product Support at 1-877-504-0233. I recently ordered some parts for a 72 and a gasket set for an 80 and service was prompt. Do it on the phone - the rep can verify the part number is for the item you need.

My Enya 80-4C gets amazing mileage compared to the Saito .82 if you need a 12 oz. tank for 15 minutes of WOT flight. Of course, the amount of nitromethane in the fuel can make a huge difference in fuel consumption.

I had a 12 oz. fuel tank in my CGM Cub, but changed it to an 8 oz. fuel tank for the Enya 80-4C (which is really a .74). I suppose it is possible that the Saito .82 can burn a lot more fuel than my Enya, being a more powerful and later design. 3D flying would also cause the engine to burn more fuel since most 3D folks burn at least 15% nitromethane laced fuel.

I have two NIB Saito .82 engines. I'm about to head downstairs and convert my as yet unfinished GP Big Stik .40 to using an Edson Universal Adjustable Engine Mount, now owned and sold by RJL/MECOA. I also bought the tricycle nose gear adapter for said engine mount. I'll be able to run virtually any beam mounted engine I wish on this model after the installation of this mount. Two-stroke, four-stroke, multicylinder, etc. Now to break-in one of my Saito .82 engines. Then it too goes on something 3D capable.

I'm also going to use this model for a radio test bed, in addition to an engine break-in model. I have three different 2.4 GHz to test out, each with a different binding procedure and set up routine. This should be a lot of fun.

Additionally, I have the GP Big Stik .60, which is also going to be a break-in model. Naturally, the initial Saito break-in running will be on a fixed bench mount, just to be sure of getting it right. Then it will be time to finish flying-in the engines.

I'm sorry that I didn't keep my GP Giant Big Stik ARF. I think I'm going to order another.

You should test the fuel consumption for this engine. I have found that a FA-.91 and Fa-100 can burn 1.25-1.5 ounces per minute. I recommend that you use a larger tank.

A typical Saito will burn 1 oz of fuel per Cu. in. per minute, if burning more than that the LS needle or even both needles are way too rich.

My 1.25 burns less than that.

I also have a .46 2 stroke that burns about as little as a .56.

Jim, I don't see why it wouldn't, the 2.20 is not tuned any milder or wilder than the rest. And in fact may burn a little less because it runs a little slower by comparison. Maybe I could check that out if we get a warmer day. Good question though.

I have a 1.20 that loves the fuel. I am considering an engine for a Super Sportster. I am trying to decide on the 2.20 or the FG-36. Obviously, the gas will burn less. If the 2.20 doesn't drink more than 2 oz. a minute, I may consider it.

the 2.20 uses 60 cc/min of glow fuel. He says that he is quoting Saito specs here, but I haven't seen those specs listed on Horizon Hobbies.

G'day OF. Yes, I had the electric starter all ready but when I primed it with a cc or so of fuel and turned it over a couple of times, I applied the glow drivers, and turned it through both cylinders. Both bumped just right so I "smartly flicked" it and away it went. Pure bliss.

I have spent all day rebuilding a Speed Air ARF for a friend. He is learning how to fly quite well but he keeps loosing concentration at just the wrong moment on landing and he cart wheeled the model It did not look too bad but once I got inside, it was a mess. I don't know what they make these ARFs from, but it is not balsa and it is very brittle.

Going out tomorrow morning for a fly. My mate works the night shift at the local hospital and he is going to ring me at an unearthly early hour. Hope I wake up. Going to take the Lanzo Bomber again and also my little Phoenix Tiger Moth which I have just re-engined with an OS 40FS (the early one). I had a Saito 30 in it but it was slightly underpowered. I had a Saito 56 in it but it was too powerful. Pity the 50 is no longer available. I will report what happens tomorrow.

Just scored this on ebay. Apparently only done a few flights. The seller seems like a decent bloke answering questions etc.
So hopefully shouldnt have a drama with it.

I consider the needle valve and fuel system to be superior to the OS 52. The power is about the same

Jim, I did a little comparo a while back with the Saito .56, Enya .53 and the OS .52. About 250 rpm separates the three running in the exact order of their displacement, as you say not much difference to be a concern. The one difference is that the Enya loses very little when run on 5% nitro.

I have four OS 52 engines and the Saitos have them beat in running consistency. My OS 52's will not get to 10,000 rpm with a APC 10-6 with 15%.

The Saito 56's consistently runs a little above 10,000

The real sleeper is the Saito 62.

I guess I'm just a Saito man.
