Default RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

I have a new saito FG17 and I am having problems with it. It runs for about five minutes then quits running. I have sent it back twice, but Horizon says it bench tests fine. I am running it inverted with a 14X7 3 blade MAS and a Keleo exhaust. They bench test it upright with the stock exhaust and a 2 blade 14x8. Anyone running this engine with a Keleo exhaust having this problem? Also I got it back from them and the pickup was loose and could be slide from side to side. Frustrated with saito as this is my first one.

Saito & RCEXEL's sensor design is so problem prone compared to the way C&H mounts the components.

In trying to make the set-up "idiot proof" they have merely raised the idiocy bar.

Did LMAO, Sr,

So sorry to hear of your surgery, and am praying your recouperative powers are as stout as your wit.

Take care & get home for the Holidays.

Merry Xmas

Club Saito 723

I'll be down for the winter. I'll probably get home for Christmas, but as soon as I get limited use of the right knee, the left is going under the knife/saw.

In the mean time, I'm livening things up at the nursing home.

I hope you don't get sentenced to seven months like I did. Keep us posted on the progress. Kick a nurse now and then with your good leg.

I got both knees done at once in Feb 2003. Was in the hospital for a week and a long term care facility 3 more weeks. By the middle of May I was driving myself around. Went on that year to have a gall bladder operation in August and a laminectomy in November. Do your physical therapy after the knee jobs or they will really get stiff.

By the time BLW saw me in January 2004 and Hobbsy in April, I was so stiff I could hardly move. But I eventually got over it.

Best wishes

Anyone had rotator cuff surgery besides me? I had that done Nov. 9th and man it's a long recovery. Three full months or more of PT. Getting any sleep is the hardest thing since the surgery. Have to lay on my back mostly but even then the shoulder starts aching.

Lots of old timers here! Wishing all the gang a Merry Christmas ~

Ernie, that was the seven months I referred to above, I tore my left bicep loose and 75% of my rotator cuff. last Feb. It was a seven month recovery, on Sept 4th the Dr. released me with no restrictions. I rode the Harley the next day. Since it was my left arm I can't blame it on starting Saitos.
Here is my arm all betta. I want to replace this home made Hall effect sensor with one of C&H's pretty red ones.

You'll also need the magnet ring to bring ther gap between the magnet/sensor into spec. The adjustable ring will also make timing set-up so much easier.

Hey, Hobbsy, if your ignition setup works, just use it, don't mess with it, you might make it worse.

You guys seem to think that CDI is some mysterious force that is somehow unpredictible.

If you are fiddleing W/the Saito or RCXEL designs that may be true, but C&H perfected the Syncrospark systems 15 years ago.

That was not what I meant. He has a working ignition system, thus it really isn't worth scrapping it out for another system, unless it isn't working well and or is broken or something.

But then I see guys all the time at the flying field buying the latest and greatest new engine to replace their almost new current engine, just because they think they need it or have to have it. So if Hobbsy really wants it, then go for it Hobbsy.

Dave, did your shoulder ever get really good, pain free, and like new again? How did you do all that damage? Mine is an industrial L&I claim thing. I'm typing with this heavy duty sling on and working the mouse left handed.

Ernie, my shoulder is fine, I was lifting an approxinately 100 lb log onto a log splitter and heard this awful crack then ripping sound. The Dr. released me 0n 9/4 with no restrictions, which sur[rised me. Now, there is no pain, its as if it is a new shoulder. My brother told that the fist night after surgery would be the worst night of my life, he was right. It was really frustrating being limited to 5 lbs lifting all those months. It was worth it though to be pain free. Ernie, are you talking about a sling like this one? Thanks

I am glad that the guys pushrod is OK, we learned a new trick though. new mechanic tricks are always good to know.
