BJ you are THE MAN. I have been searching everywhere.

Cam issue solved. To reverse you use the cam from the opposed twins. One is standard and one is reversed. While it addresses various sizes with part numbers. The article is on the 72 which will be in the P38. It has 2 blade props listed although it looks as if a 3 blade pusher will do the trick so I can match them. Being glow synchronization is the next step. There are electronic ones for ignition engines although I can use a knob on the transmitter to fine tune per flight. By mixing 2 channels for throttle.

Uou ou made me day! I have all the parts to rebuild a 65 so that will be good practice in getting familiar with the internal mechanics before stripping a new engine down.

Thank you thank you.

Hi Bob. I need a 180 crankcase. If you get a 150 jug and case, and don't need the case, please PM me and maybe we can work a deal. The 150 and 180 have the same case. Thanks.

Sincerely, Richard

The FA-150 case & FA-180 case are NOT the same.

You could install an FA-150 rotating assembly in an FA-180 case, but you would end up W/a very low compression 150. It takes a LOT of work to put an FA-180 rotating assembly in an FA-150 case.

I have a jug with piston Bob, in excellent condition. It's black though. I also have several valves, they fit FA-120/150/FG-30.

Bob does that mean you have run up the white flag re sr's secondhand 150 barrel and valves? surely you don't suspect that sr would have carelessly over revved those parts he offers or god forbid perhaps...even experimented with them,i'd be having nightmares

This is a case of too many having too many cases, and not enough jugs.

Don't ask, coffee has not kicked in yet.

Nope, the 150 parts are left over from experiments using 180 parts on a 150 case. I replaced a 150 rotating assembly & top end W/180 parts on a 150 case. (FA-180HC) I'm going to do the 180 top end/rod on a 150 bottom end. (FA-171HC) when my furnace quits sucking my wllet dry & the garage temperature gets above 50°F. That's a single cylinder prototype for 180 top ends on an FA-450R3D bottom end. (FA-512R3DHC)

After the FA-171HC prototype experiment I'll have a 150 crank and another 150 jug/piston. I also have a couple of 150 conrods.

Seriously, I have lots of good 150 parts in the drawer.

Yep, I'm dumb enought to take perfectly good 150 jugs/pistons off an engine to put 180 parts in their place.

MORE POWER!

Go back to post #28710. Melvin Reider has several. He uses the top ends & cams to build 5 cylinder radial engines W/FA-450R3D bottom end parts. He posted his e-mail & phone number.

He should have lots of 180 cases, cranks & rods.

I think so too,and i have a question for you mate.I've never missed new product warning labels for say,a washing machine where the book says if you are washing childrens clothing please remove them from the said clothes before hitting the start cycle. But i've had a manual crank failure on the nitro fuel pump for my saito's,i kid you not the sticker on the new one says "use with gas oil and engine fuel" on a brighter note an old club mate eddie gave me a real nice dave brown refueling tin to attach the new pump to.While i think about it what is everyone's favourite sport flying fuel for a sunday hacker with a saito on board? mine's 10 nitro ten syn and five degummed castor.

I just use what the dude at the local hobby shop sells me - I think this batch is 'Byron Fuels - Aero Gen 2'. 15% Nitro, 18% Lube. It doesn't say exactly what that 'lube' is.

Mind you, I'm still easing myself into stinkies (electric flier up to this point). So I haven't actually flown me glowies/gassers yet - just bench tested blah blah blah. I'm not sure which one the neighbours hate more - the sound of a revving-the-t.i.t.s-off-it I/C, or the screaming whine of the Turbines.

Either way, it has to be better than that crap Indian music they trash next door until 2am while they're playing pool and sinking enough booze to reincarnate the Bismarck. German oom-pah-pah I could handle...

Finished the Saito 80 rebuild. New parts are drive flange & collet, crankcase, pushrod covers & seals, rear cover, gaskets and bearings. Total parts cost was about $75. It will be a few weeks till I get to run it when the weather warms up.
