Remember the first Honda's (that I saw anyway, early '60's?) that had the backwards kick starter? They kicked forward in stead of the usual back direction!

No bling is a good word over here dave,it's like saying you can't stay away from the nearest auto parts store and your bike gets shinier with all the flash bits you add over the years, kind of killing it with kindness, that's what bling means

ps is your coming new 100 saito twin even firing or odd?

I had dreams as a teenager too - 'cept they were more for the Chiko Roll girl on the Hog rather than a Honda...

Don't ask me - the origin of the word is more from over your way.

Suffice to say "Yo.. Bro... Bling is the shizz man"

Noticeably different than my FA-130T, although both have two carbs and are "odd firing" (sound like Harleys). My 130 cylinders/pistons are from the .65, what are yours from?

This pic is like mine, but mine is not CDI (yet).

Very best regards.

Sounds like a Harley you say?

I'd be interested in that one

Just idling, or on power too?

Regarding the sound, it is not just my observation, TDBandit on the Cox Engines website says about his FA -100T: " This however is not a true "boxer" type twin instead it has more relation to that of a V-twin than a boxer. (has a single throw crankshaft with two rods sharing the pin) This engine is really a 180deg V-twin and sounds like an angry Harley lol its a power house."

Re the shakes, In his review Clarence Lee noted that the 130t shakes a bit under 2500 rpm. Smooth above that.

But, are you suggesting that Harleys shake?

Regards, Richard

I have 2007 1200-C with the evolution engine, the shake is programmed right into the ECM which controls the fuel injection, the instant I open the throttle all shake is gone. I can squeeze my knee against the air cleaner at 75 and feel nothing.
The 1.30 sound s Harley like at low rpm, not so much at high rpm. This is the 1.30 I owned and then sold, I regret selling it.

My daughter bought a 2006 special edition DynaGlide. When she went to Okinawa with her Marine husband, she asked me to store it for her and ride it at least once a month. I owned a BMW K1200RS at the time, a very smooth-running bike. Yes, the Harley shakes!! Not a "suggestion" but a statement of fact!

BTW, love the sound of my FA-100. (Just to keep on the topic of this thread!)

They 'shake' coz that's what we like about 'em

Trying to find a vid so I can hear the sound of one of these thumpers. It's the Saito 1.00 twin that has that sound, yah?

RC, my brother has this 2009 Dyna Glide Custom with the 96 cu. in. engine and a six speed. Last spring he did the ride to wall from Columbia, Mo. He rode to San Diego to join the pack of about 40, by the time they got to DC they were 500 strong. He then rode to my house, about 85 miles south of DC, He and I then rode 370 miles to western Pa. He rode 6,015 miles total. Another fact is his engine is smooth as silk. I don't understand the difference. He and I are Patriot Guard Riders and he plays a Bugle and plays taps for anyone who asks for their loved one.

What year is your Hog, Hobbsy?

Reason I ask is that there is a fairly substantial difference in the balance of the older Harleys, the Evo I, and Evo II engines IIRC.

Still trying to find a vid of a Saito barking like ye olde Steel Horse...

Will have to wait for spring, if it ever gets here this year. From snow last week:

You have no idea how pretty that pic looks to someone like me from down here.

I understand how cold and miserable it may be at times, but it sure beats the hell of out raging bushfires IMHO.

We were pretty lucky this year - though we did have to odd formidable day. Thank Gawd it didn't all go up like a powder-keg for a change...

The one above is my brothers Dyna Glide, mine is a 2007 1200-C Sportster in a rare two tone green.

There should be a lot of videos of the Saito twins. I'll fix the double post, no problem.

Hobbsy that is one sweet ride. Last year for carbed motors, IIRC? I have the same Biker's Friend bag for my '02 Sporty

*edited for for gratuitous booty shot haha. She's all ready to go camping in this one :-)

If your bike is an 883-R I had one as my wallpaper for a long time, That bag makes a very nice backrest. The R model was equipped with 13.5" shocks, so I replaced my stock 11.75" shocks with Progressive 440's. What an improvement in ride and handling. I also installed Progressive Fork Springs and changed to BelRay 7w fork oil.

It's supposed to be 59 today I'm going to finish wringing out a new Saito .50 I got a few months ago.

Yep, 883R with only 10k on the ODO. I bought the bike for $3000 in 2012 with only 450 miles on the clock, put some V&H pipes and a Corbin seat on it, and did a carb rejet. Love my Sportster!

Its sposed to be over 60° here on Monday, I will be hitting the flying field after work
