Thank you barry we had a rush to finish it for a display at this weekends round of our aussie v8 supercars by the harley distributer here.I was flat out polishing the street bobber and last i saw it was disappearing onto a truck and heading for the circuit. One of the guys sent me a pic taken with his phone(you would'nt say that 20 years ago)and it's real average. If i can get hold of a better one than this i'll post it cheers
ps notice the large hammer on the workbench..an absolute MUST when working on a harley if you have a short fuse, kinda feels nice too the bike has no miles on it yet but i guess the non standard pipes don't affect warranty, bloody would if i was riding it.

Pete maybe I'm going to the dogs, I am buying an other OS, a .95v and am looking at a water cooled Harley. A Saito 1.25 is in my slightly more distant future too.I may be busy tomorrow, all the stuff I need to re-charge the AC in my truck is coming. Yes, including a vacuum pump. A new tool never goes to waste.

BTW that Saito 72 I picked up last year and put in my Something Extra is running super sweet. No more dead sticks like I had with the OS. Though I did switch radios, so not sure if that was the issue. I flew yesterday with 15MPH winds, and it was a blast to have the plane just hang in front of me 15' off the ground like a Harrier. I would have flown more than 6 minutes had the sun not be blinding me in the left eye. I also found the Saito uses far less fuel than the OS did. I think that pretty much confirms that from now on, only Saitos will be in my planes, so if I come across another 56/72, I will swap out the OS 52 on my LT-40. I have 3 new Magnum 91FS on the shelf, going to trade one for a Saito 82, then find a home for it. It's a bit too big for the LT-40 though.

Rye, I don't know about videos but there's plenty of experience and help right here with pictures. Certain battery terminal pullers do a good job on the prop driver.
Here are your bearings, no need for any fancier than these. $11.88 and usually free shipping.

I have never tried YS or Enya 4-strokes. I would consider a YS 4-stroke but the complex setup has me intimidated. "I heard" that the diaphragms/gaskets are a wear item and have to be replaced periodically.

I plan on selling a couple of my Thunder Tiger 75's and an ASP 52 4-strokes and buying a Saito FA-82 or OS 70 Surpass.

I am always impressed with my FA-82, (the OS 70 II Surpass is also impressive). The FA-91S (I have 2 of them) are always so easy to operate. I just don't seem to run them enough, always fiddling with the 2-strokes. I need to get my act together.
Rye dave's got an easy and cheap home made cam timing tool, ask him about it.Don't take everything he says as gospel tho the son of a so and so still has a 125 on his bucket list, can you believe it?

Rye, a short piece of Sullivan Golden Rod with a 2/56 x approximately 1/8th" stud in it inserted into the hole in the cam in the intake pushrod hole will hold it for you. Or an Exacto Knife blade held up against the gasket surface engaged in a tooth slot that holds the timing mark straight down will do the trick..I must be climbing the ladder to success, I'm a Son of a So and So now
I almost forgot the gap, Saito says .0039" others say zero to .0005. I just use the Saito provided guage .0039.

I'm very interested in hearing what size prop you use and how is ground clearance on the Somethin Extra? I was hacking one to lengthen the fuselage a few inches and was thinking of a Saito 72 myself. I had a 12.25x3.75 on my last Somethin Extra and had to keep the nose up on takeoffs and landings or the prop would strike the ground. It routinely cut little trails through the grass if it need cutting.
I've left furrows with it too, but when the grass is cut it clears fine. Plane flies great, except it wont knife edge, the nose comes down with full rudder and throttle. Might be incorrect thrust, or just nose heavy.
Oh, picked up an Ultimate Bipe last night with an OS Gemini FT120ii on it. Has good compression and smooth bearings now that I got it degummed. Flushed it with alchohol, had a stuck lifter, sticking intake, and stuck carb. Its all smoothly moving now. My only concern, one of the adjusters on an intake is shorter than the others, which seems odd.
