Is yours an ARF or kit built? Mine is the dreaded ARF, too lazy to build one(actually wanted one to fly right away). I may build one down to road if I happen to trash this one beyond repair. The more I fly it, the more I am liking it. Its a great windy day flyer, as long as it has power.

What can I use to extend the exhaust on the Saito 45? It has the straight pipe instead of a muffler, and I am putting it in the cowled Citabria. Soft brass tube? What size? How to affix it?

Well i would'nt think about putting brass on the end of a pipe that vibrates a bit,i think someone has already mentioned clear silicone pipe here, dang, could have been me.

ps i hear they are making teabags with viagra in them now,it stops your biscuits going soft.

I tried the silicone thing, lost it after the first flight, just did not want to stay put. The manual for the plane shows them using a brass tube to extend the Saito 45, Yes they used a Saito, its even the engine on the plans.

An old trick, not mine, is to drill two small holes opposite each other about 1/4 inch from the end of the pipe, Then run a piece of small wire through the holes across the diameter of the pipe, and run it around the circumference and twist it to secure. This forms a flange or flare that keeps the silicone tube from slipping off when wire tied above the flare. Works for me. Good luck.

I was thinking of brazing the extension on, but what I wonder about is loss of performance.

Lucas thats a really tidy installation mate, lucky you chose an old 120s to haul the extra 15oz's around,i'd be worried if it was a 125 .Acdc note the grey silicone tube hanging off the end of a nice turboheader muffler and don't say it's going to fall off cause they don't try richards idea or if you really are in the mood to do some brazing rearrange your house hotwater plumbing to get it out of your system

I tell you what, dippin biscuits in your cup of tea has never been so enjoyable

Very nice install, but I would recommend using lock nuts instead of regular nuts to mount the engine. And of course tighten them.

Which P-47 is that? I have a Hanger 9 150 Razorback, and it looks a lot like that up front, but its a 30cc size plane.

OF, I used to have one of those, fell off, twice, even screwed to the muffler. Besides, not long enough to exit the cowl.

Hi Its a Hanger 9 60 arf and I am going to change the nuts to lock nuts as suggested by spaceworm. The turbo exhaust has a ridge at the end so a zip tie will work, I got this engine 2nd hand , its brand new! I plan to put a 16x6 on it, would that work on this plane as it is a heavy beast!

Yo dude you too, they was chocolate chippies and they just went mouldy over time, would you risk it for a biscuit?

Lucas with the 120 in that nice h9 arf p47 you are at the manufacturers top recommended power range, should do nice round loops.A quick look at one flying on youtube shows that they handle well at low speed on approach and the elevator remains effective. How much does it weigh? as an example that cm pro midget mustang is over 9 pounds and the 115 gives it a real flogging, top power for that one is an os 75ax,turns it into a rocket ship they reckon

AAACCHH, thanks a lot OF! Had to go and mention our current lineup of losers. Its the battle of the Loud Mouth vs the Liar. Either way we are screwed.

Luca, I know tht plane, I almost bought one, but when I went back after finally deciding, it was gone. Oh well, they always say bigger is better, so I got the bigger one. No Saito on it though, have a DLE 30 sitting around that works, just trying to figure out best way to exhaust it without chopping it up. The stock muffler, or a Pitts would require chopping up the firewall, which is pinned to aluminum angle braces. More work than I really want to perform. Too bad I can't afford an FG-40 for it.

Beg to differ they are all Loud Mouth Liars and in need of multiple felony convictions and a decades long stretch in the pokie to keep them out from under foot!

Can't argue with that. What concerns me the most about the one is that she blatantly lied about Benghazi attack, and then under questioning, showed her total lack of caring in saying what difference does it make, or more like screaming out What DIFFERENCE does it MAKE! Her lack of caring and compassion for the murders of 4 Americans under her watch makes me wonder, why is she in this if she doesn't care about 4 Americans, how can she care about an entire country.

And the hairdo dude, just at a total lost as to what his agenda is.

His agenda is simple he wants the presidency to feed his constantly growing ego and to leverage it to enrich himself further. Trump only cares about what he can do for Trump, he thinks the world owes it to him. Hillary is just as simple, it's all about grabbing power for power's sake and to fulfill her sense of entitlement.

The difference I see between them is he says a lot of what is broken in the country and wants to fix, OTOH, he says a lot of what the other party says, so which side is he on? Out of the two evils though, I find him the lessor of the two. Sad, but true. I just can't get past how she handled Benghazi, both before and after. She also has many failed attempts at policies, such as healthcare reform, complete failure, and don't forget the village crap.

The one thing I see that Trump may be able to finally get fixed is Education, HRC won't, thats for sure. If anything is in dire need of being fixed is education. Having two children in school, I can see just how poorly they are being educated.

On a positive note, many people who are plain @$$ wholes say they will leave if he is elected. (yeah, like that would ever happen)

Some of his ideas have been around a while and mentioned by some very smart people. It was Rumsfeld who brought up NATO realignment with his famous old Europe vs new Europe comments. The idea to give Japan nukes was a magazine cover issue dedicated to the idea by none other than National Review in, I think, 2006. Of course the media and National Review have all been stricken by gross amnesia about these inconvenient facts.

ACDII- mine is a kit that given to me when the builder grew tired of repairing it. W8YE has seen it fly (and crash). We believe the plane has been crashed 9 times. It survived a high speed midair with another SSE and made a nice landing. One crash tore the nose off when I forgot to extend my antenna. It was built with counterbalances and has other modifications. Right now it has large tip plates on the wings. It comes in at the speed of a fast walk before settling to touchdown. I have an first production model Evo 46NT on it. It has a Tower's muffler courtesy of W8YE's generosity and turns an APC 12.25x3.75 prop.

I know what you mean, saw a comparison between his speeches and a SotU of Bill Clintons, and they are basically saying exactly the same thing. Funny how one can say it and be praised and the other gets slammed. Oh well, thats Media for you.

Hey can you show me those tip plates? I would love to have some mods on mine. Going to get red wheel pants for mine so it stands out from all the others at the Fly in, make it a little easier to pick out of the crowd.
