You guys all sound like old men who slap on Old Spice before heading out to the flying field. Sort of reminds me of guys who carried Zippos around and put Old Leather or Canoe in them so they smelled good when they lit up their smokes. Sheesh.

And what is wrong with Old Spice? I use it every day, that or Bay Rum or Brut. Better to smell like a man than some prissy girly guy with their fruity cologne or castor oil.

Ole and Lars, who had hated each other for many years, both happened to be in the barbershop getting shaves and haircuts at the same time.
The barber giving Lars his shave asked him if he wanted any aftershave.
"No." said Lars. "My wife says I smell like a French *****house when you use that stuff on me."
The barber working on Ole asked him "How about you, Ole? Do want aftershave?"
"Ya, sure, go ahead." said Ole. "My Lena doesn't know what a French *****house smells like."

Take me away to my cell...

Um, so many ways to take that one pope!

Hey, do you think silver solder will work to repair a broken strut? I have silver brazing wire and flux.

If the strut is made from mild steel sure it can . Looks like its been brazed on the larger piece . As for your 1st part of the post its only meant to be taken one way ! cheers

Dave forget the wife's opinion mate this is our hobby and it's gotta smell right don't you think, maybe the pope could do some taste testing. What if saito and say...castrol oils got together to produce mens personal grooming products so you could always smell like you've just been flying all day,and just as happy too.Of course they would be made in such a way as to dis encourage body hair sticking together,a dry spray if you like for crutch and underarm places that spreads as rapidly as secret corrosion x after run fogger?

ps pearl your 82 carb is not buggered ask dave for an easy remedy,or the pope since he seems filled with a sense of good will at the moment

Good AM Pete, I had a GK .82 for a while, it was pretty straight forward, no issues. But if questions come up I'll help if I can. I think the best secret is a Fox Miracle Plug, Wildcat fuel and never use APC's.

Here's my latest dream bike. 1,380 cc's and lotsa carbon fiber.

Pete, could you duplicate this paint job?

It' been about 50 degrees and raining hard here for about 6 days, the Saito 1.25 is patiently waiting.

Yes i do lots of finishes like the pic you post will attach a couple of engine parts done recently one is of a 460 big block camaro rocker covers and intake manifold and this one is not one of those

Wasn't there an old joke about the dumbfounded bartender who watched a guy order 10 shots and down them all?

Just put on your jeans that you wore to the field yesterday (and maybe the day before that and the day before even that). That day old glow fuel and castor smell is beyond describing. The smell stays in the room after you walk out. You know you're talking to a r/c flying man when he smells like that.

Well the annual swap meet was held today, and I missed out on it, no cash available. The moment you walk in, you can smell the old castor from all the old engines and planes that are usually there. However I have noticed a large reduction of engines and planes, and kits. Seems like the old guys are either out of it, or dead. Such a shame too, all I see now at these meets are ARF and electric. It was at this particular meet that I passed up on the Saito 300 twin that I still kick myself for not buying, especially now that I have that OS Gemini twin and have flown it. That sound of twin 4 strokes is musical! Would be even better if it were the Saito I was hearing.

There is still a big swap meet in Waukesha in January, that one I plan to attend, hopefully I can get more stuff for my big birds.
