Ha you can dis the Ford's all you want, but my 2014 F150, which I might add has been the best selling pickup for over 3 decades, has not had a single problem. Just rolled 60K after having it new for 18 months.

I used to have a 1972 Vega, with a 77 Sleeved engine, Teflon stem seals, 75 Electronic ignition, and 2 barrel Holly. Never burned a drop of oil, but did eat up water pumps. The fixed fan blades would pull the pulley right off the shaft, which in turn pulled the timing belt off, which in turn, left it dead on the road. It had a 2 speed powerglide, and that bugger could move.

I had a Dodge once, once, what a piece of crap that car was. Could not get the steering wheel centered, transmission links kept popping off, and went through 2 clutches because of that. Hit a pothole once and couldn't open the door afterwards.

Had a pppprius, once, Never, Ever again, worse car I ever drove regardless of the good MPG it got. I hated that car. Had a Camry, what a piece of crap that was, cheap materials, horrible interior dash lighting, left you blinded if it was foggy out, sunroof constantly bound up when closing, had rattles, and clunks, and being a Hybrid, you could hear it 500 yards away when applying the brakes from the regen whine. You can have the reliability, I will take drivability and comfort over that any day.

I replaced the camry with a 2010 Fusion hybrid and never looked back. That was a great car and should have kept it, traded it on a 2013 Fusion Hybrid, and while it was also a great car, my wife liked the 2010 better. I have had a lot of Fords, and have had a couple stinkers, but overall they have been nothing but reliable and have all held up very well, much better than the Chevys I had.

None have been powered by a Saito though.

Well I must pipe in now Fords are like saito there are no other comparison. Everything else is just a second. My 1999 F250 has 290,000 on It and my second 2001 F250 has 155,000 on it.
The only reason that I replace my Ford's is because in Iowa we have this thing called salt they put it on the roads every winter and after 20 years of that you don't have much of a truck left to drive. I had one used dodge and after a few months the steering box rusted off the frame that was exciting to say the least.
I have herded all the sayings. Found on road dead, ford circles their mistakes, F*** over rebuilt dodge, fix or repair daily but they are always first on race day.

My 95 F 150 only has 212,000 miles and the engine is as quiet as the day I bought it and it doesn't use any oil. It has an 8' bed so it is a real truck, not a wannabe.

Meh... what would I know?
The Tojo has only done 485...
The 'Dodge' whatever you call it Black Thing only 40.
They both still go... as did 2 Beetles... a 'Variant'... a Ford XA... Mini (x2)... Valiant slant-6 225 VC ute... HK station... HQ (308, 454. 350)... RX2 (12A and 13B bridge-port)
Who really gives a Naff?
Get's you from A to B... costs you a few bob and a few hours on spanners.
There's not one single one of them that I would knock...

i.e. ... they're only bloody cars...

A bit like ars*holes - everyone (usually) has one.

What many of them out there don't have is what we have - the love of everything RC.

Ok.. yours may be bigger than mine... but if it brings you joy, who the Hell cares..??

Since I helped open this can of worms I'll mention my favorite English Sports car joke about the reliability of their Lucas electrical parts (I had a 59 TR-3A)

Why do Englishmen drink warn beer? They all have Lucas refrigerators!

How do you tell if an English Sports car has Lucas electrics? The owner walks everywhere!

Remember the light bulb ad? "Chevy Has a Better Idea, But Ford Has a Better Car" Or, was it the other way around? Damn CRS.

The same type of attitude extends to other things. Why would you want one of these when you could have one of these? The second is going to be much more fun to drive and turn a lot more heads!

Scroll up a bit to Sapceworm's post # 32704 Fix It Again Tony! Or just spell out the bolded letters and think about Chrysler's new owners after the Huns dumped them.

Ih dealer eagerly announced he had ordered a diesel Scout much to the delight of local farmers who thought to blend in some farm (untaxed) fuel. Finally it arrived popped the hood and it had the prettiest Mitsibusi (sp) engine you ever saw. A masterpiece of engineering. The owner got in to take the first test drive. He returned 1/2 hour later and reported it took him 2 miles to pass a hitch-hiker.
Didn't sell many.

Sounds like they copied the way Chrysler created the old slat 6, the cut a V12 down the center. Good engine though.
