They do not use more fuel than other brands unless you don't have the LS needle set correctly, the LS needle controls about 85% of the throttles range so it has huge impact on fuel economy or the lack of it. Saitos typically use about one oz of fuel per minute per cubic inch of displacement at full throttle. A 14 oz tank at full throttle should go close to 20 minutes, more at part throttle. As the engines get larger the fuel economy gets better per cubic inch per minute. larger engine use more fuel simply because thy are larger not less efficient.

A good rule of thumb, never go by what you heard, only by what you know.

OK off topic but it does have some relationship to glow fuel.

How about that money he's saving us by cutting funding to NPR and the rest. Now that's a leader. Finally someone with the, um, cajones to finally do it. I feel so bad for those snowflakes crying and collapsing in the classrooms. Thankfully the colleges had the heart to give them their crayons. BTW, how many times has Barbra Streisand threatened to leave? At least Johnny Depp made good on his threat and and joined the French Foreign Legion, or whatever.

Whew, I blew this post and better get on topic quick. Dave, I was thinking about metal vibration, chaffing non-similar metals, and mostly arcing with your receiver waiting to go crazy on you.

Thanks Barry, it will be a new Spektrum 6600 receiver and a DX 7 radio. The control rod will be a Sullivan Golden Rod, (always) I am pretty careful about that stuff. The C&H Ignition and battery will fit on either side of the tank. Thanks again, Dave, It's always good to be reminded to think about stuff. Avoiding tunnel vision.

I have had good luck with Gold N Rods too I replaced the OEM rods in the TF 182 kit with Sullivan Rods. Do you prefer the Red flexible rods or the Blue semi-flexible rods? The exception being my Fokker DR-1, it is getting a pull-pull system on both elevator and rudder.

I think we all have our stories about what we forgot, or didn't do.

Nice radio too. Glad you are upgrading again.

I have the ones for Kevlar String, (pull, pull) the ones for steel rods, for flexible ones and big fat ones that have a black housing. Some I have have the ribs on the inside and a smooth not quite clear rod in them. They may be a different mfr. Sullivan golden clips are the best.

Hope your happy to hear i had a low calorie fat free dingoes brekky at sparrow fart this morning, cocked my leg on a tree and had a good look around.

F4 phantom angels is spelt like that, get a google earth map app and look us up on the other side of the world,we all like to bragg that we speak english but through cultural and historical differences the same words can sometimes mean different things, for instance.I often sledge (a cricketing term for taking the urine out of your opponents body) dave about riding his harley and the good news is he still gets out and rides it whereas i HAVE to ride them sometimes instead of my ducati so i'm qualified i reckon, people suffer in all sorts of ways and being sledged is also interpreted as saying you like someone here but, before you start liking me...i'd like to say the beer you export here is truly awful

I only used Golden Rods for throttle lines. I was given a Somethin' Extra that had been crashed so often the owner didn't want to repair it any more. He used Golden Rods and they shrank and expanded all the time. I replaced them with dowels. Now, for flight controls I used carbon fiber arrow shafts. I get them for under $4 at Walmart's when hunting season ends. I buy about a dozen and keep them in the shop.

For throttle lines I use small plastic tubing from the servo around the fuel tank, through the firewall and up to near the throttle arm. I use solid core wire inside of the tubing. It seems to be stable and hold settings doing it this way. I make sure the tubing is tacked down pretty good along the inside of the fuselage, etc.

The dowel is notched for the rod to fit flush with the dowel surface. It's just an inch long dowel plug and a short piece works well with CA. Dribble thick CA in the rod and stick the dowel in to pin the rod down permanently. I leave a bit of the rod protruding out of the hole. It's easy to peek in the fuselage and check it periodically that way. This rod is threaded on the end so it's ready to use now.

I have used nothing but throttle cable in all planes but one, and eventually that one got cable as well. I find it works best for 4 stroke throttles than anything else due to its flexibility. Since the throttles are so close to the firewall I notch where sleeve comes out so it can move up and down with the cable and glue it to the back side of the FW. Most of my planes use pull pul rudeer and the elevator servos are near the tail so I don't have many with long pushrods, and except for the LT-40, they are all hard wire inside a tube.

I don't know about Black bears but the Brown bears have excellent taste in restaurants. Here's a video of a Brown bear making his preference for German food in Colorado Springs. I have eaten here and a gree with him.
