The FA-100 makes less power than the FA-115 and the FA-125 does not significantly out perform the FA-115. FA-115 has the same bore and valves as the 125 and better volumetric efficiency.
Sorry Dan, it's performance does not sell that one.

So what was the purpose of the 115?
that's simple, over pricing, cause for sure it only cost .99 cents more to make than their 100 costs,

OF, you got to give me a while, I got to review my head and think what to say/type first

My wife examined my head once and walked away shaking her's. I told her I wanted this Tee shirt for Christmas and she shook her head again.

It's kind of like when Saito had the FA-91 and the FA-100. Prop diameter was the biggest reason to choose one or the other, imo. Also, stump pulling or going for speed.

Applying a little logic the 125 makes more sense, to me anyway.
Saito 125 turns a 16x6 at 9,000 rpm costs $374.99
Saito 115 turns a 15x6 at 8,800 rpm costs $369.99

That's way more than $5.00 worth of additional performance, I bought my 125 from Horizon during $30.00 off sale and free shipping.

William,
I think you can help me with a Saito 82 that I took apart to release a sticking Tappet valve. The problem is that I forgot exactly how to the Cam Gear is to be positioned in relation to the compression position of the Piston. I hope that makes sense and you can help me out. I did get it together at one point but while I regained engine compression after freeing up the sticking Tappet, the engine refused to create suction to sufficient to bring fuel into the carburetor.
Thanks in advance,
Sheldon

William,
You may have received an earlier message from me from a previous account but please respond to this message with a new email address.
I think you can help me with a Saito 82 that I took apart to free up a sticky Tappet. My problem is that I don't recall how the Cam Gear is to be positioned in relationship to the Piston position. Should the Piston be in the compression (down) position or in the intake (up) position in relation to the Cam Gear position? I did have it put together but the engine wouldn't suck in fuel. I even tried priming the carburetor but the engine still wouldn't start. Hope you can help! It's a newer engine with only about 4 flights on it so I'd like to get it working.
Thanks,
Sheldon

Make yourself a little timing tool like this out a piece of Sullivan Golden Rod and a 2-56 all thread cut to 1/8th inch protruding out of the Golden Rod. Insert it into the lifter bore and engage the hole in the cam with to piston at TDC. Piston at TDC and dot on cam straight down. It won't work on the big block Saitos because the lifters only remove from the bottom.

Welcome to the wonderful world of RC! Having more engines than planes is a good thing. Helps you plan for the future! My problem is I buy engines then have to figure out what plane to use them in, then find out the plane I really want to use them in, doesn't come in a size made for them! I would like a WING B-25 as they are the right size for the pair of 91 FS I have.

Can never have enough Saito. Still kicking myself for not buying that 300 T when I had a chance, brand new in box $300.

Belleone and Sheldon, I think you may addressing William Robison of Saito Notes fame, William passed away several, years ago. We all lost a good friend and fellow Saito enthusiast. If you're addressing a different William, I apologize. Thanks, Dave

Jim, here is an early version 1.25 with a missing exhaust pipe. Not a bad price, it wears the jug on the left with the shallower and fewer cooling fins.
Saito FA-125 - RTF (ID: 1124924)

The pipe is 20 bucks, Horizon's shipping is very reasonable. https://www.horizonhobby.com/muffler...--bn-sai125a75

I am being helpful ain't I.

Considering that my FA-91S turns a 15x5 @ 9700 RPM, I find your RPM numbers for the FA-115 a but suspicious and probably not a good representation of the power out potential..

That is direct from the Saito 115 specs, and they use 30% nitro methane to get it.

That would be 6-32 or 3.5mm and maybe 4mm. I can check a 100 for you tomorrow.
