There is no ENYA, big or small, not worth restoring.

Recently I was lucky enough to have a friend inherit a tea chest full of ENYA spares.

Another friend had a sad little .09-IV in need of some TLC.

The only original part is the front case and carb. With new internals this little 'spares special' sang a sweet song and is as good as the day it was made.

Hi,
Just an F.Y.I. for ENYA guys if you don't already know:
I had a great experience getting all my rebuild parts for my 80-4C engine with Noel Jensen at Nubsdoesparts on eBay.
Had everything, bearings, gskts., "O" rings etc. One stop shopping, fast an easy.
Saw him mentioned here prior so I thought I would try HAPPY I did.

Is the old Enya 25X AAC? An old review of the 21X says that engine is AAC, so I'm guessing the 25X is too, but does anyone know?

I just picked up one in good used condition. I'll try it on the test stand when the weather warms up.

Just search "Enya rebuild parts" and you'll see all of his listings. His name on ebay is "Nubsdoesparts".

Default enya 19X

I'm just curious to know if any of the contributors to this topic have ever used the Enya 19X. Granted many of us used the 40/45/49/50/60 X engines but the little one seems to have been completely overlooked.
MRC sold them but like most everything that MRC had they didn't do a whole lot of effective advertising for any of their products. I haven't run mine in ages but it is a really exceptional engine for its displacement.

My 25X that I picked up recently used looks identical to your 19X in every external detail except the number on the crankcase.

I'm still hoping someone can tell me if the 25X, and presumably the 19X, is AAC.

Anyone out there?

Should be quite easy if you have the engine in your hand and look through the exhaust port.

I have a 19X which has had just over an hour of running in but on the last run it sagged a little when I peaked it out so still needs a little more time on it. The 19X has a cast iron piston so I'm using 25% all castor fuel. I'm sure the 25X is AAC but to check it out, cut a small strip (around 1/4" wide) from a fridge magnet and lay it on top of the piston. If it sticks the piston is iron but I'm betting it doesn't stick.

Your correct the 19X is indeed iron/steel construction.

A little status change on my 46-4C Mk I I got recently. I ordered a set of bearings for the whole engine for peace of mind, and before reassembling, I cleaned up the piston, Rod, and wristpin. Some before and afters below. I ordered a Bowman ring which came today but chose to leave the factory Enya ring installed as it wasn't bedded in to start with - very little runtime engine. End gap was .003". Looking forward to getting this baby on my test stand.

Hi,
Got a ?? for one of you ENYA gurus, the ?? pertains to the 80-4C cylinder head:
I am quite sure the 60 and 80 heads interchange since I got a quote from Ken enya and he quoted a 60 # for my 80.
The real issue is with the 2 styles that are used on these engines. Mine has the rocker arm stand bolts incorporated into
the cover bolt stands and the one he quoted is for the (newer) style with the locker bar which is a seperate piece. I have
gone back and asked about this but to date no response which consequently is stopping me from ordering until I get a
definitive answer. Thought I would turn to the thread to see if the info was available here.

Are they an interchange, and if so is it one of these "exactly the same except" deals ??
Any help ??
Thanx,
Bob B.

I don't know for sure, but I believe the 60 & 80 have different liners (bore is larger for the 80) which would make me think they are not the same head. Downunder or NM2K would know better than I do though.

Tim, I didn't think I could use the Enya A3's on the Saito twin unless I used the crab claw connectors Saito provides. My Sonic Tronics twin adapter is several years old and the connectors will not go onto the A3's. On a lark I ordered a new Sonic Tronics twin set and they pop right onto the A3's. The hex on the A3's is a little closer to the bottom than others, apparently Sonic Tronics has shortened the dogs that engage the plug's hex and they work perfectly A little silver solder and about 10 minutes and I was in business. I tried them Fox Miracle, OS-f, A3's and GloDevil plugs

I use Sullivan and Enya remote glow plug clips and the Sullivan clips fit any glow plugs I've used. The Enya clips only fit Enya plugs but they're really only used on the Enya 4-strokes. The only plug I've used that the Sullivan remote clip didn't fit without using an extra copper washer was an OS F plug in my Enya 60-4C. The plug is recessed into the head more and the clip wouldn't lock down on the plug in the Enya.

Here in this thread ( http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/tach...nya-60-4c.html ) reply #1, I did a glow plug comparo in my Enya 60-4C comparing 3 different plugs on the same day. I didn't test the Enya 3 that day, but it performs just a touch better than the 3rd plug I tried rpm-wise.

Hi Guys - I have an Enya SS15 ABC that will be going in a new plane I'm building. It hasn't been run, yet, and I don't have the instructions for it. I was wondering if anyone could tell me what glow plug is recommended for it. Long or short reach? Idle bar or not? I have a couple Enya #3's on hand that I could use.

thanks
John

The Enya 3 plug is pretty much recommended for all Enya engines. I'd not hesitate to use one if you have them.

?? What do I have to do to keep the prop nut tight on my ENYA 80-4C engine ??
I put it on with a 2" spinner with a 13-6 wood prop and I have tried double nutting and a nylock nut but it still loosens up.
When double nutting I have locked up the 2 nuts as much as I dare so as to not damage anything but it still loosens up.
Is there a secret or am I just doing something wrong ???
Would appreciate any info anyone has !!!
Thanx,
Bob Blasi

I'm hoping someone can help me. My dad is restoring his first RC airplane that he got as a kid in 1957. I'm looking for an Enya 15 from that time period to give him as a gift. I'm looking for a .15 1B or a shiny case .15 II. If anyone has one or both they are willing to part with I would be interested in purchasing it. Or if you know of anyone that has one please let me know as well. Thanks!

Are you using a washer against the prop for the nut to snug up to? Is the prop nut coming loose on its own or is it loosening from the engine stopping abruptly? The prop nut should not come loose, but is likely to loosen if the needle is set too lean and the engine stops abruptly from a backfire. I use a standard prop nut and a spinner nut snugged up to the regular nut and haven't had one come loose that way yet, however I do not use wood props.
