Default Saito 40 MkIII

I just bought an older Saito, the FA40 MkIII, that came without a muffler, it only came with a straight pipe. Apparently on these older models thats the way they were. I want to find out if someone knows if the current Saito muffler and header would fit. The Horizon site does not show the exhaust pipe/header, only the muffler. They do picture a header but it has female threads on one end and male threads on the other so, who knows? If anyone has information as to a header and muffler that would fit I would appreciate it.

Default RE: Saito 40 MkIII

The old ones don't make hardly anymore noise than a new Saito 56 with just that straight pipe.

The straight pipe is still available.

The Saito 56 exhaust extension and muffler are supposed to fit.

The new muffler is a cast aluminum right angle job with a straight all threaded stub (male both ends) for the pipe.

You may be able to find the older straight muffler and curved pipe somewhere?

The older straight muffler http://www.horizonhobby.com/Shop/ByC...rodID=SAI5074B

The curved manifold that goes with the straight muffler http://www.horizonhobby.com/Shop/ByC...ProdID=SAI5075

The newer right angle muffler http://www.horizonhobby.com/Shop/ByC...rodID=SAI5074C

But there is a newer one that is part # SAI5074D $23.95

The straight manifold pipe that goes with the newer right angle mufflers http://www.horizonhobby.com/Shop/ByC...rodID=SAI5075B

The original type pipe with a muffler pressure tap http://www.horizonhobby.com/Shop/ByC...odID=SAI90R374

Enjoy,

Jim
