Does anyone else love Enya engines?

RE: Does anyone else love Enya engines?
I just got a 60 GP XFL -4 engine. Should I put it on the shelf or get a pattern plane to match it's power. I have a Rossi, Moki and Webra pattern engines, I just don't know which one to choose. What a problem.
Anyway my engine although new, the owner lost the pressure control valve so here I am looking/asking for one. Is this valve just a one way or does it also control pressure?
If anyone has a spare please PM me.
Thanks.

G'day
Me too. My collection has grown over the last couple of years.
Most recent acquisition is one of the new Enya 36 4c Al/Ch four strokes. What a sweet running engine. Nice power, very reliable and just a nice engine to fly. It is in a Kadet LT-25 and suits it perfectly.
I have also recently built a Stick from a plan and I put my 53 four stroke in it. I have had to put a three bladed 11 x 7 prop on it and with this it really flies the model well. My other Stick - a Great Planes Big Stick - has an Enya 45SSBB and really hauls it round well.
I also have a 45CX which I bought off a certain auction site quite cheaply. It has surprised me at what a good engine it has and really hauls the Sig Somethin' Extra it is mounted in.
I could go on but that's enough for the moment.

The Enya 40 and 45 CX AAC engines are my favorite midsize engines. That's not to say that there aren't other really good midsized engines, but the AAC piston/liner of the Enya 40 & 45 CX engines give them a distinctive edge that is not so easy to explain to non engine enthusiast/types of modelers.

RE: Does anyone else love Enya engines?
I love Enya engines. When I was a kid I remember seeing an ad in an RC magazine featuring the Enya R1.20. It said "Enya R1.20 Smokin'" and had a guy revving this engine with billows of smoke coming from the muffler; I fell in love with that engine.
Anyway, I recently bought 2 new in box R120 engines and they are beautiful to look at. I plan to put one in a 1/4 Taylorcraft, the other in some other classic plane. I saw this video the other day and it made me realize how awesome this engine is (love the sound),

I have a 60-4C and I love it. It's a unique engine in regard to its personality, but the sound is just too cool. Poik poik poik putt poik...
I agree these engines are just beautiful! I use 5% nitro 20% castor and an Enya 3 plug and my .60'is quite happy. (And frankly so am I)

I too am a fan of the Enya 60-4C, and its bigger brother, the Enya 80-4C.
I too have owned and ran an Enya 120-R 4C engine. It was beautiful, but for some reason that I can't remember, I sold it. It must have been some rare deal or something. I've been sorry ever since.

RE: Does anyone else love Enya engines?
I sure think that my Enya engines are simply the best: 2 09V, 1 O9 Quick, 1 11CX AAC, 1 15III, 2 19IV, 2 19V, 1 19VI, 1 SS25BB AAC, 1 SS25 AAC, 2 SS30, 2 SS30BB, 1 32CXL, 1 SS35, 3 40XZ, 45 6001, 3 45BB 1006, 1 45II 6002, 2 45X, 5 45CX, 4 45CXL, 1 SS50, 1 53-4C, 2 60II, 1 60IIIB, 3 61CX ABN, 3 61CXLR, 1 60X 4 AAC, 1 60XL and 1 80X
Every engine I tested from Enya I got extraordinary results, like in this video showing my Enya 45CXL with tune pipe turning a 12.5x4 3 Blade Prop and very rich, it will peak over 11000 rpms with this prop.

I only buy Enya. I have an .09 all the way up to a 1.55 4C. I just took delivery of a new, never run .19 VI 4006 (for $18.50). Yep, I love Enyas.
Cheers,

I have several 60XF, XLF's and 80XF. Enya is the ONLY! (that I know of) model engine manufacture that has almost all (and I mean almost all except for bearing which you can still get also)parts in stock for engines over twenty year old engines. Mecoa does have parts for a lot of the older engines but some of them are backed ordered for years.

Welcome back, Bill!
My my recent Enya lot included 3 .15-IV's. Ones reasonably used, one has a few tanks through it maybe (missing the carb sadly), and the last one is new. It's sad the carb for the one costs more than I paid for the engine and shipping. The new carb is about $30 shipped.
I'll be running my 120-4C today, burn the cobwebs off of her before storing for the winter. Man does she like to drink fuel....

I bought my first Enya engine in 1966. I was stationed at Luke AFB, in Arizona and was a firefighter in my regular duty. I worked in the base hobbyshop every other day as a part time employee. We firemen worked 24 hours and then had 24 hours off. This left a fair amount of spare time to fill. Paying for hobbies wasn't possible on our USAF salaries, so I augmented my pay by working part time.
One day, there in the base hobbyshop's display case was a beautifully machined engine, the likes of which I had never seen before. The engine resided in its own beautiful plastic case. It came with an R/C (what's that?) carb and a high compression head, in addition to the stock, low compression head that was mounted on the engine.
Being a hotrodder before joining the USAF, I was familiar with high compression mods and parts for cars. Naturally, after buying the engine, I unbolted the stock, low compression head and then bolted on the high compression head. I had a lot to learn. I mounted this seriously heavy engine on my Top Flite Nobler control line stunt model. At the field, I filled the fuel tank with Fox Missile Mist fuel (25% nitro!). That is when the learning curve got really steep!
Anyway, I have been in love with Enya engines ever since. That poor .29 R/C engine tolerated my mistake of running high nitro fuel with a high compression head in the hot Arizona sun. I wish I still had it today.

Enya 53
Dear all, I love Enya engines too. I recently acquired a 53-4c with very low time, the old version (air bleed carb).
Had the intake pipe with read sealant in both part : head- carb. Upon analisys the intake pipe bend was a little "too much", so the O-R and the silicone sleeve were pushed and got squeezed, so necessity to stop leaks with sealant.
I let the carb attached only by the intake pipe, so I made a specific fixture to hold the carb without tension: It works!
meantime, I read a lot about the risk of corrosion on this engine due to remaining oil in the camshaft box , so i turned a nipple in order to use it in place of the original screw holding the carburrettor.
So flushing the area after flying is easier!
PS I cannot yet upload photo....forum rules for newbies sorry

I get an ENYA 40X today, at least 30 years, yes THIRTY YEARS, since the last time it was turned on, I refueled with regular nitro-free fuel, and on the first try it started, without needing to regulate anything. Why I love ENYA.
P.S.: the muffler has just one screw......
