I've got a Saito FA82a. I'm installing it in an ARF and started hooking up my lines. Line #1 from fuel tank vent to the muffler for back pressure (PIC 1), Line #2 from fuel tank fuel line with clunk to carb (PIC 2), pink one is for fuel fill to be mounted on the cowl. Where the heck does the nipple in PIC 3 get connected to?? What's the purpose of a vent on the bottom of the crank case??
There's no explanation in the Saito manual and there's no Saito engine support on RC yet......

Sorry, couldn't resist.
The third nipple is the crank case breather, it should have a length of tubing not less than 4" extnding out the bottom of the plane. The excess oil from the engine will be expelled through it.
Also, for a lot of general Saito notes read through the "Welcome to Club Saito" thread.

As stated above, the third nipple is the breather for the crankcase. This is also the place you have to put in the after run oil on a 4 stroke if you use after run oil. Putting afterrun oil in a 4 strokes carb or exhaust does very little good and does not get any of it where most needed; i.e. the bearings on the crankshaft and con rod. There is no requirement for any length on this, in fact, to long or to small a line could cause minor problems. Many of the newer 4 strokes actually have another nipple on the intake manifold and tell you to hook the breather nipple to it through a short piece of fuel line.

Got it, Thanks Rodney. I do use After Run oil and I would have just jammed it down the proverbial throat (carb) of the engine before your post.
