OS 60 FGR
I aquired a new engine the other day. While it is brand new, it is missing the documentation and the needle valve. It uses an OS 74 carb. I asked on the OS engine clinic, but they have no info on it. If anyone has either the docs or a needle valve, I would be glad to pay for them.

RE: OS 60 FGR
I have an OS FGR .60 that I inherited from my dad. It's the "blackhead" version. It has the OS type 7B carburetor, which, if my memory serves me correctly, is the same carb that was fitted to the .60 FSR which was sold new at the same time (about 1976).
As it happens, there is a needle valve assembly for the 7B carb for sale on "the leading online auction site" right now.
The manual for the 7B is available on http://www.osengines.com/manuals/
Good luck.

RE: OS 60 FGR
It is an FGR and the carb is a type 74. I got some of the manual for both. I found a needle valve on eBay, so at least it is a complete engine now. All I need now is a display case for it.
Thanks for those that sent information to me.

No, it is a black head. I have two NIB OS61 FSR Special Editions (Both gold head versions of the 61 FSR). Right now, I am trying to get one more of the 60 FGR for the collection.

RE: OS 60 FGR
That is it, but I do not have the muffler, it uses the rotating exhaust baffle. Back before noise bothered people. Trying to decide if I want to put it on an old Kwik Fli or something for nostalgia purposes

Absolutely. Put it in a "period" model. Ohhhhhhh.....the smell of a real model with balsa instead of lite-ply is too much for me.
If you're feeling "lucky"....I have a 1972 Kraft radio you can borrow....it was my first radio. Yes it works.
Good luck, and don't you dare install that motor in a chinese ARF.

RE: OS 60 FGR
Actually, I would like to find a 1970s Heath Kit radio to put in it. I had a Graupner Kwik Fli with an FGR 60 and a Heath Kit 5 channel in Bitburg Germany in the early 70s. I flew the hell out of that airplane for a couple of years. Like you said, all balsa, and built by myself, ,no ARF. Would love to duplicate that plane.

I'm feeling the love here John....<G>
"Bitte eine Bitt?"
Nothing like a Bitburger to go with that Balsa ja?
Build something with your own two hands for that motor. Nothing else would be good enough.
