Default Enya 60x

Hi
I have an Enya 60X model 7101. It runs good and idles good. The problem is the throttle is a little sloppy or worn. It wont shut off when the throttle is closed all the way it just idles real slow. Any help or suggestions to what might solve the problem. Is a carburetor available or a rebuild kit.
Thanks
Bruce

make sure the ideal stop screw is set so the barrel will close.

As the barrel is harder than the carb body, you can get just the carb body by itself. Please describe which carb you have as the 60X came with three versions.

Thanks

Hi Jeff
Thanks for your reply.

The barrel closes all the way and then some. But the engine still runs (nicely) at a slow ideal and I have to pull the fuel line to get it to quit.

The barrel has a little pay back and fourth / there is no pay up and down.

Is there a kit or maybe a better carb. How much would a kit or parts or carb. cost about.

I will try to attach a pict.

Any ideas
Thanks Bruce

Hi Bruce,

That is the first edition carb and the only one for that series engine. Try sealing the needle valve with fuel tubing. Enough air is getting into the motor from somewhere to allow it to stay running. COuld be from the air bleed up front. Try closing it down a bit. That air bleed hole leads right into the throat. If you then start to run rough, change plugs to a hotter version to handle the increased fuel from these changes.

Let me know how you make out.

I just wanted to post a fallow up on this. I tried every thing to get this engine to run better but could not cure the air leak. I had an old 60 size Super Tiger carb. and tried it for the heck of it and it fitted perfectly and ran great. I now have this engine installed in a scratch built Haffkey GeeBee model Y.
Thanks for your help

Default Enya carb 60 X

The picture of your carburator looks like my enya 6o x carb that is waiting for parts to run....Could you measure the top air opening on your carb so I can verify if I have the correct carburator...Thanks.

Default Enya carb 60 X

Hi
The opening across the top is 3/8". Hope this helps. I used a Super Tiger 60 carb. that fit just like the origanal and ran better.
Good luck

Hi Bruce119,

I'm really curious about the Super Tiger carby you are using, would you please give details of the ST model it came from?

I have exactly the same problem with my 60X. My engine had been stored new for about 16 years and only just now run in ... so the carby barrel or housing is not worn. The engine will quit with a closed throttle barrel when using standard fuel (ie no nitro), with 5% nitro it will quit after idling (with a completely closed throttle) for a 30 seconds before quitting. The idle mixture hole is about 50% open which gives great transition from idle to wide open.

Thanks
Arthur

Default Hi Arthur

The carb I am using came out of a Super Tiger S 61. I beleave the G 61 is the same carb. It goes rite in just like the enya carb. and works great.
Good Luck
