Open Rocker YS?
I have heard a rumor that YS, long ago had a four stroke open rocker of about .40 size. Does anyone know their YS history and can shed a little light on the question? I have searched the 'net over and can find nothing.

Why those sneaky little japanese engineers at Yamada snuck this in without telling me. Oops I forgot about the 53. However, YS never made an open rocker engine.

There used to be a distributer or service center in Texas years ago for Saito. I had picked up a obselete but new exhaust stack for a Saito .80-90 twin to use on my 100T. I did not like the flex pipes. I had got these back around 1995. I cannot remember the name of the place, but it was an autherized Saito repair place. You could also check ebay, or maybe William in the saito club.

Hello; Here are a few early open rocker engines. The Enya 40 doesn't show too well amongst all those 46's. Then there is the OS 60, but I can't find a picture of that.

RE: Open Rocker YS?
Dont forget about ENYA, they also made several open rocker engines. I would post a pic of my OR Enya's but I'm at work and they are at home. So it will have to wait. Also, OS OR also came in a Marine version with water cooled head. I belive that Saito also had a marine version, VERY limited production, or 1 or 2 years only and that was over 20 years ago.... hehe I was just a kid then Hum... I still am a kid, or at least my wife says so.

Ok, I'm home now. Here are a few pics of my Enya OR engines and one of my Saito 30's I saito looks kinda neat like this, it reminds me of an oldtimer ignition engine (but its not).
Also, I OS 40, that I converted to an open rocker just because I felt like it. It runs great and my brothernlaw is currently flying it in some wombat or somthing, not sure but its got a twin tail.

26RAY, I like what you did with the OS 40. But quit hogging all the Enya 35 4C's! (lol)
here are my own open rocker engines; OS FS60, Saito FA30 MkII, Kalt FC-1 (new arrival), English made Magnum 91S.

Open rocker engines may be nice to look at but not to use in an airplane. The top end gets dirty and wears quicker and the push rods are always getting lost.
All those engines being shown are the last releases. Has anyone got pictures of the first versions?? OS made 3 FS60's prior to the one shown and Saito made an earlier 30 than the one shown.

Thanks, That Kalt and magnum are nice engines. Both of those are on my list of wanted engines. I only have seen the Kalt come up for sale about 2 times. and of course both times I was broke... LOL
KEEP THE OPEN ROCKER PICTURES COMING !!!!
We should start a thread, " The Open Rocker Club " Seems to be the in thing.

Jens, tell us about the diesel compression thingy that goes in the glowplug hole. Did you make that also? I am fascinated by the idea of a working model 4 cycle diesel. I have seen the rare Enya 41 4C diesel, but only few were made.
