tiger shark engines
I cant comment on the earlier ones, but I did hear a lot of bad things.I have a new version of the 1.20 and this thing screams,is easy to start and is just a really good running engine.

tiger shark engines
i own a 120 a 91 and three 75s the 75s all run excellent, the 120 is a good runner also.I can,t seem to get the 91 to transition perfectly but it never qiuts. If i set the low needle for perfect idle it bogs a little. If i lean it out a little it transitions good but has problems winding down in the air.the 75s all are truely excellent runners.

RE: tiger shark engines
I have their new 52 engine I don't know about their older engines but mine started on the 2 flip right out of the box it turns an 11-6 prop 12500 and idles down to 2200. The transition is perfect and it has a 3 year warranty and from what I have heard their customer support is outstanding. I don't know why anyone would pay almost twice as much for an OS when this motor is just as good as my OS 50.

I had a .40 about 4yrs ago. It was a fine running engine. No problem. Sold it with the airplane, and it still runs well according to the guy that bought it. Very good running engine for the $$. I think I paid like $54, no more then that for sure. Give it a try, If you treat it right, you should have no trouble.

RE: tiger shark engines
I have a Tiger Shark .40 (red head) that is a real piece of junk. One too many dead-sticks finally cost me a plane. If Kangke has redesigned and improved the Tiger Shark, it may no longer be the Yugo of model engines, but even the Hyundai of model engines is not good enough for me. For the amount of $$$ I spend each year on this hobby, an extra $35-$40 for a quality engine is nothing...

RE: tiger shark engines
I have 1.2 Tiger Shark red head that was given to me by a friend, I think because he couldnt get it to run rite. This engine will turn a 13-6 prop to 8500 rpm. there is only about 1000 rpm difference from 1/2 throtle to full. I put a carb on it from an ASP 108 and got it to 8500 rpm with the original carb it turns this prop to 8200 rpm. Motor runs perfect, idles as good as any engine ive ever had and the transition to high speed is perfect. I have a webra 60 that will turn this prop higher than this Tiger Shark does. Engine is in a SigCap 232 which flys very good with it but I think it would do as well with the Webra 60 because it produces more power. Nice plane but a disapointing engine. glad it was free! If anyone has any ideas Id like to try them.
13-6 masrter airscrew / 10% Nitro / 18% oil / OS 8 plug. Its like the timing is wrong just very lazy in upper half of throtle

RE: tiger shark engines
the 120s have a porting problem and were taken off the market, had the same problem as yours.my 90 was stronger but had bad transition.I have 3 75s that are pretty powerful but are bullet proof and start easy and are user friendly.have 2 52s that are powerful and just plain excellent motors.one is the newer vertion that has the head shims in place.kange now has turned the 52 into the 50 which i just picked one up in a kange deal fo 39 bucks with the purchase of there profile sukhoi and it will probably rip like the 52.the 75 will now be a 80 and i have a new small case 91 in my excite that runs well but am using a pump because of the poor fuel tank placement in this plane.I picked up the 56 ringed this summer and it runs the same as the 52 with no power advantage. They replaced my 120 twice then just gave up and gave me a new plane instead which was cool.custermer service has been A1 and parts are cheap(carbs are 15$as are mufflers. The only thing better than there smaller engines are there arfs which are excellent.
